Any one else here is a Patriot, whom support America but not the government itself? I'm a Patriot.

-Recently, I had a thought about different between US Army and Patriot.
They support America but US Army actually support government? Patriot doesn't support government but freedom and America.
--Patriots doesn't take a orders from government but US Army does.
---What do you think?
----If you know this more than I do then please comment. Thanks!

Some people seem to blur the lines between Patriotism and Jingoism.

:hmm:

<PFH...I saw that little ad-on.....am waiting....>

Google this: "What does it take to be a patriot?" Be sure to type in everything in between the quotation mark. And you will be enlighten on what patriot is.

You Domestic Dissent! :mad2:

What's wrong being Patriot and against Government?
It depends on what you mean by "against" and "Government."

If "against" means you want to change current state and federal administrations by way of protesting, campaigning and voting, that's one thing. If you are advocating rebellion or violence, that's something else.

If "Government" means to you the very institution of Federal government instead of just the current administration or specific laws, that's two different issues.

A real Patriot doesn't need to toot his own horn. It is bestowed by others who witness his/her deeds. :lol:

Where do you draw the line? Does waving a flag and yelling "USA! USA!" count as jingoism?

According to the definition of Jingoism, yes. Jingoism is when one takes an action intended to arouse one's patriotic emotions. Patriotism is when one loves the country and is dedicated to it enough to make sacrifices. Patriots are willing to defend their country from being attacked. Jingoism is a form of aggression towards the foreign policy. Jingoists often resent and support attacking any countries that they deem to be a potential threat.
