I :ty: all because if ya'all didn't come... I would probably be out there, doing a hard labor for speaking out against Kim Jong-Il or even think poorly of him.

My uncle went there fighting there and then he gladly came home safe.

You're welcome.

My thanks are to the soldiers that fought, suffered, and died there.

Thanks for the reminder, Reba. It was such a sad time. My father is a veteran of it, and I had an uncle who got killed by a sniper after the Armistice was signed. When I was a small boy I asked my father if he thought the sniper felt bad to learn he goofed, and he said, "Yes, I am sure of it."
Peace

My dad was a medic in the Korean war. He never fought on the front lines though.

Medics are extremely important to the troops. I thank him for his service.

I thank your dad for his service during the war in Korea. My condolences to you and your family in the loss of your uncle.

I'm glad that your family brought you here for us. :)

Thanks, Reba. Believe it or not, shortly after I graduated from high school, I got a letter from Selective Services classifying me as 1-A. Imagine the fun Dad had in calling them to rectify the situation.

Most of my family were in the age groups that either served during WWII or the Vietnam war. I had one uncle, my mom's baby brother, who was the right age to be drafted during the Korean war. He was a conscientious objector, so he served as the Chaplain's driver and assistant in Korea.

An interesting phone call indeed.

My parents are only children so I have no relatives who fought in any recent wars. We are not a military family. My mother's family fought in the Civil War on both sides and in the Revolution as well. Don't think my dad's family ever fought in a war till my Dad joined the Air Force.

Hello Reba, I have a question for you. Does some deaf people works at military base or service? Just non-combat military or something?

Sometimes it's just a matter of timing.

Lots of deaf people work for the Department of Defense and the other service departments as civil servants or contract employees in non-combatant roles.
