Interesting article, netrox. Quite dangerous to forget to watch out for those human variables. There are always several that refuse to fit neatly into an equation.

The Shock Doctrine covers the Chicago School/Friedman economists in Latin America in the 1980's. A great book to learn more about both these economists and Latin America.
