Those of us that hate it (OC) didn't say we wanted people to not have access to healthcare or that reform wasn't needed, we just think that the government running it and telling us what to do is wrong and crazy!

Well, I disagree, the government involvement is necessary to ensure that everybody can have across to medical care.

Can you tell me why BO should be allowed to violate the Constitution to enact OC?

ACA or healthcare law is constitutional, IMO.

Like Jiro said, US Supreme Court hasn't rule on it yet, though.

I hope they see that it is unconstitutional. Whether they do or do not, the Supreme Court has made unconstitutional rulings before. They aren't perfect.

Yep. I've been one of those people. Right now three of our adult children, including one of my married daughters plus her husband and both their children have no health care. And I still hate Obamacare, because I believe it is unconstitutional.

My daughters also dislike ObamaCare, even though they do not have health care.

My standards about what is and is not constitutional are based on reading the Constitution, not on what would be convenient or easy for me or my family.

I really disapprove of BO. He's a very poor polictician, very anti-U.S. Constitution. In fact, his name is an acronym for: One Big Ass Mistake, America.

Beside of government involvement, there is no solution for uninsured people to find an affordable insurance and if you want ensure uninsured people to get an insurance or access to healthcare so government has to involve to form the public health care, social insurance or insurance exchanges that set by state.

So are you going to answer the question I asked you first?
Do you think those programs are unconstitutional?

I dislike programs that are unconstitutional.

I'm guessing it's because you felt too many people are gimme gimme gimme. They give little (or none) and take lot.

Daily Kos: Obamacare will save Medicare $200 billion by*2016
Quote:
Here's an inconvenient fact for Mitt Romney and the Republicans: Obamacare will save $200 billion for Medicare by 2016 and $208 billion for Medicare patients by 2020.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services actuary reports:
Quote:
"We have achieved significant tangible savings that have been passed on to beneficiaries," said Jonathan Blum, director of the Center for Medicare. "There's a tremendous opportunity for even greater savings." [...]
The new numbers are based on savings so far: 32.5 million people used preventive services last year with no costs to themselves, senior citizens saved $3.2 billion for prescription drugs that fall in the "doughnut hole" in 2010 and 2011, and the government recovered $4.1 billion in 2011 in anti-fraud efforts.

CMS also projected savings based on portions of the health care law that will be enacted soon, such as penalties for hospitals for readmitting patients for the same health episode, and paying providers based on quality standards.
Here's a breakdown of savings from the actuary report.
Quote:
The actual experience Medicare beneficiaries, and particularly seniors, have had with the Affordable Care Act has lessened some of the fear, and according to the March Kaiser Family Foundation tracking poll, for the first time the law is seen more favorably by seniors than not.
Of course, this could all be moot if the Supreme Court goes as radical as the March hearings seemed to indicate, and decides to overturn the whole law.

But this report makes the Romney/Ryan plan to end Medicare as we know it a much harder sell on the merits of making changes to the program, especially to seniors whom they say will be better off with vouchers. Good luck selling that one now, Mitt.
is this another case of "You Lie"? (even though Rep. Joe Wilson is a liar)

Proof That "You Lie!" Was A Lie | Political Correction
Quote:
During President Obama's speech, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouted "you lie!" when President Obama insisted his plan would not provide health coverage to illegal immigrants. In reality, Rep. Wilson is the liar.

The Bill Would NOT Cover Undocumented Aliens
Quote:
President Obama: There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false - the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

Rep. Joe Wilson: You Lie!
In reality, Rep. Wilson is the liar. Neither the President's plan, nor H.R. 3200 cover undocumented aliens.
Quote:
House Bill: "No Federal Payment for Undocumented Aliens." According to America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, Page 143, Line 3, Section 246: "No Federal Payment for Undocumented Aliens. Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States." [America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, accessed 7/22/09]

So Obama is going to, once again, go against the Supreme Court.
The court has already ruled that hospitals have to give emergency care to anyone and everyone who shows up, legal or illegal. Guess who pays.
