Thanks guys! I'm channeling all my frustration into beading these days. A friend got my work into a chic little shop near my home! :-)
Moon-child: I got started on a loom when I was little but quickly moved on to off-loom weaving (peyote). I work at an awesome bead shop in Buffalo!

Looks very nice and surely will look beautiful on whoever wears it--how long did it take for you to do one of these?

Again, well done and thanks for sharing with AD'ers--

This one took about 4 hours total to complete. It's all needle and thread, but I use Fireline (a strong fishing line) because it's much more durable and holds up better. :-)

Looks very pretty! Is that normal price for beads bracelets and necklace like other beaders? I have always been attracted to beautiful beads like yours.

Very pretty, OrpheliaSpeaks!

(I thought the thread was "I am a bearder!" and wondered what "bearder" is! I also didn't know what "beader" was. )

Peachy Lady- My prices are based on materials used, whether or not it is sterling silver and 14 KG (which is more expensive to purchase) and the time it takes to put together the piece. It is hard to find people who appreciate artisanship such as beadwork because it IS expensive to make and time consuming. The prices reflect the time and materials used. :-) Many people say "well i could buy that cheaper somewhere else" and the truth is, yes, you could, but would the quality of the work be the same? Would the materials be top of the line? Would it be as nice and professional looking? If people are unwilling to pay the prices I set, then I keep the pieces to wear myself or save them for gifts (for very special people!). I'm glad you like them! Great question. I get that one a lot!

Ophelia, I have been thinking of setting up beading hobby room in my house someday...more likely in the not too distance future. I think it's a great therapy to relax and focus on beadings. I might sell a few, but more likely just as recreation and to give to a few people for christmas gifts, etc. I've been browsing at beads magazines at Barnes and Noble book stores. I noticed that the beads can be purchased from anywhere in the world. The bracelet with glass beads in your website looked so pretty...they're glass blown and handmade. I went to art craft fair in Madison, Wisconsin several years ago when there were over 200 booths. They had about 200,000 people there....huge! It also had ethnic food booths, farmer market, band, etc. One or two of the booths had glass blown handmade beads and I fell in love with that. Where did you get your beading lessons? From looking in the beads magazines? I would love to learn how to do this someday. I have carpal tunnel in my wrist so using a stronger thread would help thread the beads easier without having to struggle too much. Is that what you use? I would need to use tool equipments so that it would not hurt my wrist too much. Oh also microfying glass that can stand alone to see me working on beads better...lol

When I was in my late teens, I made beads necklace out of hemp waxed threads to macrame and bead different kinds of beads like african trading beads, amber stone, etc. Also made some indian necklace like silver, turquoise, etc...it was so much fun! I have taught my two oldest adult daughters how to do it and they love beadings too.
