i've only played VII-X and XII. VII is easily the best. VIII has the coolest design, IX is a bucketload of old fashioned magical fun, X is okay, and XII is the most fun but the story is utterly uncompelling and bores me to tears.

Wow, FF7 for $600 starting bid on Ebay! I had no idea it was rare.
