Ditto. (Not that I 'love' him. I was just glad that he was back for another television show.)
When I first saw Stargate SG-1, I was like... "Whoa, he's back! Awesome!" I always thought he had this cool attitude and goes with the flow instead of having to have everything planned in specific details. That's the same attitude he had as MacGyver. What's funny and ironic is that they used the word "MacGyver" in the pilot episode of Stargate SG-1. When Carter went through the stargate and saw the DHD for the first time, she was so impressed and said... "Amazing. This is what was missing from the dig at Giza. This is how they controlled it. It took us 15 years and 3 superconductors to MacGyver a system for the gate on Earth. Look how small it is!" |

Richard Dean Anderson was HOT. He always had perfect hair no matter what or where he was! That's the main reason I watched him - and I was just a kid
. My favorite dramatic playtime was when I used to go around the house pretending to be like him, finding myself in a crisis and using everyday household objects to save the day!

MacGyver was the main reason why I became innovative with improvising with one thing when I didn't have another.
When I was a kid, I always let problems stop me from finishing my work... simply because what I needed was not immediately available. The same goes for school. After I started watching the show, it encouraged me to improvise. Now, I try other ways when the immediate resource isn't available. ![]() |

Ohhh that movie gonna be interesting for me to see.. I used to watch MacGyver on tv so often and I always loved how he did creative things to get out of situations and etc.. I hope to see Richard Dean Anderson back in that movie along with some cast members from the tv schedule.. that would damn well be cool unless one of the original actors either is sick or deceased...then a replacement actor would be useful as well.. ahh..

Even the television series used high-tech stuff. It was MacGyver who did things HIS way that weren't always so high-tech. ![]() For instance, MacGyver was sent to a new high-security secret base to see if he could beat their security system. The security system was high-tech, but MacGyver still beat it using his old-fashioned methods. ![]() |

Love MacGyver and Stargate. I did catch that 'MacGyver' line that Carter used, and smiled to myself. Like some of you, watching MacGyver inspired me to be innovative in solving problems. I rented the DVDs last year, and couldn't believe how old the episodes were. Can't wait to see how the new movie will adapt to 'MacGyver'ing ways out of problematic situations in this decade.
I also thought it was awesome that Mr Richard went from playing a genius to a soldier who prefers having things broken down to simple words. Of course, he was a genius a couple of times thanks to Ancient technology (you SG fans know what I am talking about). |

hahaha, rainshower.. I like ya!
It seems like MacGyver always tried to find a way without killing people. He said in one episode he solves problems as a job, I think, and that's what he does as a premise of the entire show. Doesnt hurt how he gets creative about it, and make tools out of nothing! lol.. basically an extremely resourceful problem-solving hired hand who understands the laws of physics and scientific stuff. |
