South America (Peru and surrounding countries)

Hey, I recently decided to take a semester off from Gally this fall and go backpacking for 3 months (Sept-Dec) in South America. I can fly to Peru cheap so I'm gonna start there and possibly visit other countries nearby.

I'll be travelling alone and I don't have good speech skills but I know basic written Spanish, will study more before I leave I went to Europe before but I don't think it'll be the same. Will I have problems getting around there or doing fun stuff like hiking the Inca Trail?

And if there's any other deaf people in the area (either living there or travelling) in the fall, tell me! It'd be nice to see other deaf people or travel with one for a bit

bump, hoping someone knows some info. Especially about deaf schools or organizations! I'd like to volunteer at one when I'm there for a month or so.

I'll be going to Peru and Bolivia btw.

And I forgot to say that I'm a 23 year old girl in the first post.

Hi, Alex is the owner of this site and he knows Peru well so if he doesn't come along soon to respond, email him to let him know about this thread.

Areyou still coming to Peru?
I didnt do the Inca Trail because itīs too long and a bit expensive, but I did something much better to get to Machu Picchu and less expensive -way less expensive!

Let me know
