Question When you travel what alert system(s) do you take?

Hi, I'm about to go traveling on my own for a few days to attend a conference. I usually go traveling with my hearing relatives or friends so I never really had to think about being alerted for things like I do at home.

The stuff I have at home is definitely not portable and involves lots of plug-ins, wires, nails, duct tape, back-up generators, and lamps. I'm not going to disconnect all this stuff just for a few days trip.

I have my little travel vibrating alarm clock, but I am wondering what you all take that is small and portable to alert you someone is at the door or the phone ring or the fire alarm go off?
