Suggestions for Destinations

I am itching to go somewhere for this winter break... I thought of Paris because I saw a good deal for three nights and one fancy dinner totalled up to 126$ but the flight is almost 4thousands bucks for the december... so I am looking around for any good places for me to fly.
I would like to go somewhere with snow (optional) and places for me to look around like art museums (good ones, please) and famous sites and so on, you know? I want to be a tourist haha

so anybody would like to guide me through? I thought about going to Colorado but ... I sort of want to travel alone but.... [looking around] how do i get around in colorado if I dont have a car, you know?

I am trying to find a good deal since I am hoping to travel on a budget (maximum $300 for flight, hotels etc, please) and I am not hoping to stay longer but at least two nights. :-D

I would like to travel either before 24th or after... (25th is not the big deal in my country's tradition for the "xmas")

so.... what place would you suggest to visit and so on for the hell of it?

Swashbucklers choices

A good destination choice for modern day swashbucklers would be your local topless bar or strip club. Must follow the desires of Thor the Viking god of thunder!

Come to stormy Seattle in the winter and check out the museums and all that famous attractions like Pike Place Market....rains a lot in the winter, rarely snows, tho. Tho most tourists come to Seattle in the summers....winter some do tho, some come to the coast of WA and Oregon to watch the big waves during the pacific storms coming in, wheee!

How about Australia? If you're up to having a drastic change in climate? It'll be summer time from November through February/March. Queensland's a nice state for holidays, so is Victoria (my home state) despite its unpredictive climates!

Queensland Holidays

or

Visit Victoria

or

Australia Tourism and Australian Travels

Hope you find these sites full of information and tips, suggestions and so forth.

I wish....! The cheapest I got was $769USD ONE WAY six years ago. I have no idea how much it's now these days. But will do a search and see if I can find any CHEAP flights (return included).
I got lucky when I booked for a return flight to US and back in 2001...$1,200AUD. I had booked it months in advance before my October 2001 holiday. Booked it in June 2001.

I just did a search on Travelocity -- cheapest is $1,306.00 (roundtrip) - flying with Qantas -- it offers connecting services. I'm sure it's either United Airlines or American Airlines. More of United because they share same flight routes. (for kootchie - I used Salt Lake City as the closest...I hope to where you live in Utah, )

Cheers.

BTW, forgot to add that the prices were for flying here between December and April.

That is why I said "Australia for 300$ or under? Lemme know if you could do that!" Got what I am talking about?

There are plenty to do. It depends on what your interests are. If you like snowboarding you can fly to a winter resort and snowboard there. Utah has several wonderful resorts. Deaf people get half price discount on their lift tickets. If you fly with America West or JetBlue, then I think the prices can fit in.

If you like national parks, can always drive a car to Arizona, or Southern Utah. Cabins can be like 35$ a night for up to 6 people. Freaky and I are going to Arches National Park this October before going to Las Vegas. Cant Wait.

how abt Washington DC qq they get TONS of snow in the winters and theres the famed Washington Mall area where theres so many national museums -- Washington Monument, Museums of Natural and American History, the Old Post Office, and ofc where u can find Gallaudet University (closest stop on the Metro to Gally is Union Station) and ofc theres the famed Union Station train station -- it has been extensively renovated and is now a bootiful train station in DC and etc etc etc to get around, use their Metro Subway system or one of their 2 well known public bus services -- Metrobus for MD, DC, VA areas(http://www.wmata.com/) , Ride-On for Montgomery County MD ( http://montgomerycountymd.gov/conten...it/default.asp) that connects to other Metrobus services AND the Metro -- hotels/motels are affordable outside the District and are closeby to the metro stops i can recommend Gaithersburg, Germantown and other areas near the Metro stations

also while looking at the WMATA website on info -- i came across this which would be very good -- "For visiting persons with disabilities who reside outside the WMATA service area, Metro will issue a one-time courtesy WMATA disabled ID card good for up to one month and issued one-time only. The customer must present qualifying documentation at the Metro Headquarters Sales office only, at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. The customer may also use a valid Medicare card and photo identification to purchase the discounted farecards at our Metro sales office locations and retail locations." -- so u save some while getting around the area!
