My Thanksgiving Trip?
Okay... here's what I did for the week of Thanksgiving:
I left home... got stuck in heavy traffic for almost 2 hours because someone dropped a bunch of nails... drove through Miami... stayed in Earth City... went up 630 ft... drove through Miami again... then came back home. Can anyone translate my trip?

Hmmm...translate??
Okkkk. Guess some gal with an extremely high rate of anixety was running from car to car on the freeway...clipping nails for free, thus, holding up traffic until she was sedated and taken from the traffic snarl. The palm trees, the neon lights of Miami didn't make you stay...thus, drove through it. Earth City possibly being West Palm Beach--hmm...having a grand time getting toesies digging and wiggling in the sand, binoculars strapped around your neck...searching and finding that 'special' beach gal and having dinner at a White Castle...thus, floatin' on a cloud, quite literally 630' high up thinking para-sailing is the same as floating on a cloud...coming back down when the realization of an one night stand was the only thing happening for a vampire--shucks, dude then drove back home. ![]() There. You have it. Anyhow, whatever you actually did, hope you had a grand time! ![]() ~RR

Didn't ya eat turkey and the trimmings?! Or did you find someone to suck a blood? Yummie?
I hope your tires aren't flat from the nails! Otherwise you'll go at the tire store bill! I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving!

No, I'm telling the truth. I actually did do the things I said. I'll give it another day before I reveal the full story with details.

The sideroads are forced onto the highway and that was what was where the nail spill was. Nowhere to go for miles.Nope, not Florida! ![]() This was Miami, Oklahoma. This is an actual city in Missouri near St. Louis. I stayed at a hotel there.Yep, I went up the Gateway Arch of St. Louis. It's 630 ft high. Again, this is in Oklahoma. I'm back!

Now now, look out for DD (DreamDeaf) as she'll probably 'smack' ya one for not stopping by to see her. :-X Anyhow, looks like you had a good time...I s'pose it'll be another day for that beach gal. Heh... ~RR

What was the reason for going to Miami, Oklahoma? I remember we didn't get a chance to go on the Gateway Arch in St. Louis in 2006, Unfortunate You just got your chance in 2007.
(That's not fair!!)

I started out with my family. We were driving in two cars. A few minutes out, traffic slowed down to a stand-still. The longest I didn't move was over 5 minutes. The longest it took me to move a few feet was 15 minutes. *groans* We could see people driving off the highway to take the side roads. Unfortunately, that wouldn't work since the side roads end a couple miles ahead... where the nails were spilled. So, there's no way out but to go back the other direction. |

Near Miami is the world's biggest McDonalds. ![]() We almost didn't make it up the Arch. We went on Friday, but the next available ride up the Arch was 4 hours ahead and we had other plans. So, we got tickets for the next morning and left. We then returned the next morning and hitched a ride to the top!

I wanted to do my own thing, but time didn't permit it. This was my first full visit to St. Louis since 1993. When I say "full visit", I mean visiting my mom's family and dad's family... and going out with the whole family everywhere. I went to St. Louis with my ex-girlfriend in 2001 and 2002. We only met with my mom's family for a couple days. We also didn't do much either. I went to St. Louis with my AD buddies in 2006, but that wasn't related to Thanksgiving. This year was a new experience for me. In 1993, there were only 4 cousins (out of over 20) who already graduated from high school... one of them had a kid. I was next in line to graduate from high school. Now, they're all already done with high school and more than half of them have at least 2 kids... some with at least 4 kids. In 1993, they were so little that they always tugged on my pants to get my attention. Now, they simply tap my shoulder and say, "Wanna play a game of pool or ping pong?" |

The world's biggest McDonald's is in Vinita, Oklahoma. We stopped there many times. Did you visit the world's biggest McDonald's? The movie 'Twister' was also made in Vinita, Oklahoma. World's Largest McDonald's, Vinita, Oklahoma
