If you were to travel across the USA....

If you were to travel across the USA, where would you stop? I want to travel across the country so bad. It is a dream of mine. I am trying to get different ideas of where to stop because next year MAY be the year. Here are a few on my list.

Cities/Natural Attractions

Grand Canyon
Yellowstone/Old Faithful
Hoover Dam
Las Vegas
Mount Rushmore
St Louis Gateway Arch

Thrill Parks

Cedar Point
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Elitch Gardens (Need something between Ohio and Cali)
Six Flags Over Texas (Can't you tell by now that I have season pass )
Knotts Berry Farm

A season pass that you can use for all the 6 Flags theme park chain? I didn't know about that....! When did that go into effect? I sure would LOVE to have one!
I had a Season Pass for Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara which was good for up to a year, I think.

*HUGZ* Thanx for the info. Definitly some ideas. I just wish I could rent a friends RV to do this. It would be soooo much cheaper and don't have to worry about being on time for reservations.

I like KOA. I will get KOA card before I go on a trip like this. Maybe, we stay in the Kamping Kabins that they have. All depends on prices of hotels in the area.

If I had a chance to travel across USA several times. I would go to all 4 corners.

I would start from Flordia and go across on highway 10 to San Diego, CA. Go up north to Redmond to take a piss on Microsoft's sign on the ground. Go along the Canada border to Maine. I have been to Portsmouth so I would love to go back there. Go back down to Flordia along the Atlantic ocean. Drive from Flordia all the way up to Michigan then come from Michigan to Arizona. Arizona up to southern of Idaho then back home to Arkansas.

These places are beautiful and fun! I've been all these places before.

If I were to travel all over USA, I would stop ANYWHERE that's attractive to me and my husband. Actually, I want to touch all 50 states before my life expires. Heh.

Las Vegas is so-so for me. I guess I am not into gambling and all that flashing lights at night.

A real road trip...

I am actually leaving for a road trip tomorrow morning.
The first stops would be in Lancaster, PA to see the Amish lifestyle, then York and Gettyburg PA. We probably will camp somewhere around western Maryland.

Other stops include Havana/Mason City, Illinois to see the hometowns of my ancestors, Navuoo Illinois, Omaha Nebraska, Ansley Nebraska (to see the towns where my ancestors lived), maybe Denver Colorado and then finally Utah.

I know my trip seems like an unconventional one, but that was the hardest thing to do, trying to plan the trip when I had no clue what is around these roads.

Does anyone have ideas or suggestions for the following highways:
I 68 from Gettyburg PA to I 70 in Pittsburgh area until Indianapolis, then I 74 until Illinois, then I 80 from Iowa until Utah?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

Go up to Wyoming from Denver to visit me and my family, then go back down to Utah.
