Anybody a boat owner?

My hubby have brought an old 17' boat which he brought cheap two months ago. Since after he brought it home, he has been taking all the old bits and pieces off and in progress in replacing it with new one. He has pressure blast the old paint off inside and repainted it. We have brought a new seat for it cos the old one is all torn up from the weather. Soon we will replace the inside half cab's cushion seating with new one. So far it's starting to look good.
Once it is all done, we will be out crabbing & a bit of fishing soon on the river, now it is almost summer here. I am looking forward to it. I love riding in a boat and relaxing out on the river especially during the hot summer evening.
Are there any boat owner here? Come and share us your boat story.

My dad is a boat owner too and he brought his boat I think maybe two or three years ago maybe four , He takes it with him every year in July for his one week vacation. He would go to Kentucky one year, another year he would go to Wisconsin, and another year he would go to Tennessee for the camping trips.

Congratulation to you both!

Hope you two are taking a boat licence course next?

My husband and two of my daughters have their own licences to drive a boat.

My boat is 5 years old, since its brand new, and it is 5.25 metres aluminium bow rider. We has had so much fun with our boat, fishing, water ski, surf, boat tubehttp://www.ducktec.com/boat-tube.htm inviting family and friends out for a ride.

Hope you will join WA's Deaf Angling fishing member? I am going to Victorian Deaf Angling Club's Christmas Rally soon as a guest.

Thanks Opal. This is the second boat we had own. First one was too big for us to take care. It was a 24' cabin cruiser. Now we got a smaller boat and it easier to use. He will get a skipper's licence soon.

Sound like a nice boat you got. We would like a bowrider in a future. We have seen some we likes but too much $$$$.

No, we are not into a fishing club. We only do a little bit of fishing on our own and we do more crabbing.

<<this fella doesn't need any license to steer any boat--although, not a whole lotta room, ya know? Sometimes those batteries in 'em boats don't last soo long and besides, the bath water gets cold fast too. Yep, the 'only' kind of boats I have...for now.

But heck, sure would be nice to get one of these days and roll with the waves! As for those who have boats...got room for one or two more?

Koala, that's really neat and awesome for what your hubby is doing and wishes that the two of you will truly enjoy those boating adventures once he is done with the work on the boat.

Phillips, are you 'sure' it had your hubby's name on the winning ticket? But hey, that's terrific and I'll bet he will be truly surprised and thrilled! Looks like the two of you, your family will have a great time with the new boat! Congratulations on the win!

My dad used to have a sail boat long time ago when I was a kid, we sailed across the Bay Area from Oakland to San Fransisco and back. It was fun, but I don't remember it vaguely. My dad told me and it sounds like fun.

We would love to own a boat for fishing and leisure.

Our boat is ready now to go on the river. We are planning to try it out on christmas afternoon depend on weather cos it been hot & windy for 2 days now. Hopefully the wind will died down before we can take it down to the river cos I am not fond of bumpy ride.

Nice boat Phillips! Congrats for winning it!

My dad owns 2 boats so I grew up boating and waterskiing on the lakes around Arizona. We did a few fishing exhibitions up in Flagstaff. Great memories!

I hope my husband and I can buy a boat in a few years since we live near the Chesapeake Bay. Whenever I drive over the Bay bridge during the summer, I just love the view of all the sailboats and always have a longing to be on one of them at the moment.

I did take some pics of our boat but it is in roll of film and I have to wait to use it all up. When I get it developed, I will post it here.

But Scare first because My two little girls and I were driving my truck for 2 hours then picked boat up. Then On way home.. I looked at Mirror to see rear the boat towing my dodge Ram then I notice Boat's nose begin shakes up and down then Immediate pulled over to rest area. I was so disbelieve that there metal rope started loose to let boat off the Trailer! Would say 20 inch metal rope hook boat loose from trailer.

Whoa! You are lucky to stop before you loose the boat! Yea our boat trailer is old and rusty. My hubby clean it up and replace it with new things on it so it will be more safe. Heee! I can't wait to use it on the river. I will bring my camera along to take a few snapshots.
