Airlines you have flown in?

Can you recall when you were growing up until now, what kind of aeroplanes you have flown in before? Which aeroplane did you like the best and which did you hate the most?

1) Air Canada
2) Air France
3) AmericaWest Airways
4) Arrow Airlines (now defunct)
5) Continential
6) Delta
7) KLM Airlines
8) Northwest Airlines
9) SAS Airlines
10) United Airlines
11) USAir

The best three I liked very much were non-American based airlines: Air France, KLM Airlines and SAS Airlines.

Air France was very comfortable, provided 2 movies with French subtitles, gave two mini-bottles of wine, two meals (dinner and breakfast, and the breakfast was not your cheap continential breakfast, but rather camberet cheese, croissant, bun with jam, yogurt, fruits, cheese, etc...)

SAS Airlines was also very comfortable, though they did not provide the two movies as in Air France. I think it was a bit smaller aeroplane anyhow. The flight from Newark to Copenhagen was smooth and the meals were delicious with typical Scandinavian fare. The Copenhagen-Paris flight they gave huge lunches even though the flight was less than two hours. The funny story about SAS was that I was reading a Danish newspaper, when the flight attendant wrote to me in Danish asking me if I could change seats so that a wife could sit with her husband. I understood, and gladly obliged.

KLM Airlines - one of the most nicest crew I ever saw. The flight from Amsterdam to Munich was only like an hour, but they still provided us with a choice of two meals for lunch. We chose sandwiches and chips. Also, because we were late to the airport, they put up on first class to Amsterdam. That was a delicous meal we had, even with wine. Whoo hoo. They also gave free chocolates to everyone.

The worst airlines?
United has the most rude staff I ever seen. But the flights were smooth nevertheless. I never really had any bad experiences with aeroplanes though, so its hard to say!

I have flown Delta, US Airways, and United that I can remember. I flew Delta when I was little, flying to Hawaii and back since I lived there. I flew US Airways 2 years ago when I went to Florida. Flew United when I went to Florida 3 years ago, and when I went to Japan 2 months ago.

You really think United is the worst? I think they are the best, but I cant remember much about Delta and others that I probably flew when I was little. I didnt like US Airways, because they only gave me 1/2 a can of soda and a 1 ounce bag of pretzels for a flight from Seattle to Charlotte! And they had "food for purchase" making you pay for your dinner after you just paid for a pricey airplane ticket!!

Im not really sure why I like United, maybe because you dont have to pay for the food, and free alcohol on international flights!! But dont all airlines give free alcohol for international flights?? Also, United has alot of stuff to watch on your little personal tv's, a bunch of different movies, and tv shows. Also the map feature. Not like on US where you share a tv with other people.

I've rode on Continential, American-Airline and Southwest.

I like Southwest better because I get to sit any seat I would want. American Airline choose my seat for me, Twice I've got the back row and It takes me forever to get off the plane, because people are either moving slowly or cannot find their suitcase, and I missed my plane once after going from another state to another state.

And another reason since I've rode on American-Airline, I've been delayed, canceled but when I rode on Southwest, the flight was right on time.

Own personal TV? Geesh I want that. LOL! I've never rode on United before, I wouldn't know what they have. I cannot believe they serve alcohol for free? I thought that was for first-class only? It's not that I drink, But I'm surprised to find that out they serve it for free on United.

I have flown USAirway numerous of times from Boston to Roch, NY during my college days. Not too keen with them because they always gave me terrible bumpy ride and I felt unsafe. The food service was ehhhh.

Have flown American Airline twice to Dallas, Texas. Excellent ride and food service. I was really happy with them.

Hubby says the worst airline he has flown was Air Ukraine (used to be Soviet Aeroflot plane). The plane had to be jump started, and they lost his luggage (flying from Germany to Ukraine). When he finally got his luggage back the suitcase was wrapped in duct tape.

Yeah, they have a little TV built into the seat infront of you, and the buttons on the arm rest to change channels, etc.

I think the only reason the alcohol was free is because of international flights, when I flew to Japan .....

Alcohol was free to everybody, I didnt ride first class, I had to ride in economy...... cramped between 2 people for 10 hours, and I didnt even get up!!

Ha, ha, Hubby wanted to! The plane was a Boeing 737. The truck was like an old VW bus (van) but it was a Russian version. They drove the truck up to the plane and used jumper cables. Ack!

Hubby is retired military, and has flown on several varieties of military flights. He says he thinks the Ukraine pilot was ex-military because he flew the plane like a fighter plane instead of a passenger plane. Hubby says the plane kept banking fast and strong. He says he never flew on a civilian plane that rolled so much; he was leaning on his side much of the time. He says he is glad that they didn't serve any food or drinks on that flight; he thinks it wouldn't have stayed in his body on that flight. It was the most scary flight of his life.

I have flown Delta and Southwest several times. Southwest is better than Delta because I could sit in front if I want to since I am in wheelchair. Delta made me sit in the back with the seat nbr. I really hated it! I prefer Southwest because they put disabled people first before others.

You kidding me? Delta wouldn't let you sit up front? Don't you ask for pre-boarding pass? I know American-Airline does put disabled people and even small children with parents through first. I always ask for pre-boarding pass when I check-in, because I don't want to miss my flight. When the attendant calls out the group number or letter and I cannot hear so I would rather to have a pre-boarding pass.

No, I am not kidding. It really upsets me alot about it. Pre-boarding pass is new to me. I have never heard of it. The last time I have flown Delta was in 2000.

Never heard of pre-boarding pass? Oh girl You don't know what you missing out on Hun. Next time You purchase your airline tickets when you check-in the front desk, Tell them you would want a pre-boarding pass because you are disabled. They will give you either a sheet that says pre-boarding nor a stick on tag to put on your shirt, and show it to the gate desk and They will put you right in front by the door where you get on your plane, They let you in first before the first-class people.

1) Air New Zealand (international)
2) Air Canada
3) Qantas
4) Air New Zealand (national plane)
5) American Airlines
6) Jetstar (I think)

I dont like Air NZ (national plane) as the plane was smaller, not a smooth ride.

Flown on:

Continental
Northwest Airlines
Icelandair
Widerĝe
SAS

Anything else I can't remember right off the top of my head.

I liked Continental - good grub and you get personal TV on every seat with 3 movie selections and a remote control. No subtitles in any language I know of, though.

NWA was OK.. not that memorable, but the ride has gone smoothly once for me.

Icelandair wasn't bad.. friendly stewardesses. Food ok, not memorable.

Widerĝe is a very small domestic airline in Norway, and it is scary for me to ride in ANY small planes.. when the plane takes off or lands, it just shakes.

I used to like SAS... scandinvanian airlines until they decided to start charging for meals recently due to budget cuts.

So far, Continental is the best for me.

WOW I started flying at age 4.

I remembered I flew on:

1. PSA (out of business I think)
2. Western (no more)
3. Southwest
4. Jet Blue
5. American
6. UsAirway
7. United
8. Northwest
9. Reno Air
10. Conteintal
11. Eastern Air

I can't think of any more airlines. Almost did fly on Delta but I can't remember if I flew on Delta.

Best airline I flew is Jet Blue. I loves it. 2nd is Southwest. They used to let you to choose seats, now not anymore. ::

Worst is American. I will NEVER fly on American. I had bad experince when I was 14, flying out from Reno to Hartford, Conn....took me a day and half to get there! Because we flew to Sac, CA and it broke down. We had to get off and wait for like 5 or 6 hours for next flight out. So finally got to Hartford on next day. It was so stressful for me.

I don't mind to fly on Southwest or Jet Blue. I hope that Jet Blue improve with caption on the TV. They are still working on it. That they can figure out.

I like PSA...it was way back in early 80's. I remembered that trip very well. My old teacher wrote a letter to PSA and got us a free tickets. I don't know how she does that! That plane has a happy face on front of the plane. Anyway we flew from Reno to Los Angeles. I love the view of Lake Tahoe!!! It's one of my favorite lake! Anyway they let us helping pass out the bag of peanuts. It was a lot of fun. I think I do have picture of that trip. I was probably 10 at that time. Or maybe 11.

One time I flew on Eastern, I flew from Reno to Alantla, GA then from GA to Hartford...from GA to Hartford I was in FIRST CLASS! Oh my! I loves it! They kept giving me can of Coca Cola...I think I had 4 to 6 cans of Coke in one day! Oh lord...I was so wide awake when I arrived at Clarke LOL! Then next day good sleep!

Condor
Hapag Lloyd
British Airway
Eurowings
Sinpagore Airline
Lufthansa

Best flight is: Singapore Airline

We have TV with English subtitles on each seat. Playstation are also including, too when you turn from TV into playstation.
Any soft drinks and alcohol are free.
We drink most white/red wines and champage... mmmhhhh
My children played playstation on their own TV where they have their own seat. I can choose & change anytime what I want on my own TV with subtitles...
We get real plate with silver fork & knife, etc.
Very friendly chinese stewards with beautiful dress. My boys love to chat with them...

Best flight is: Lufthansa for Europe and oversea
Same as Sinpagore Airline except TV/Playstation.
Friendly stewards
Any soft drinks and alcohol are free...
We drink most white/red wines or champage.

British Airway, Hapag Lloyd and condor are alright. I compare Sinpagore Airline & Luftanas and would say that I prefer them to British Airway & Hapag Lloyd.

Worst plane is: Eurowings

It's small plane. It's scary when the plane began shake all the time when we are on the air after take off... seats are tooo narrow and small... it's okay to stay up to 2 hours.

I'm very picky about take any planes. I would take Lufthansa if we want to go to USA.

The smallest aeroplane I flew in was like a Canadian RegionJet with two seats on each side, and it didn't seem that big. No first class compartments either. It was all right, but I was surprised it could fly from Newark to Florida.

Isn't that amazing? It is soo beautiful and sooo blue with beautiful mountains around it. I grew up going to L.T. In the winter time...sooo beautiful with the snow! And I can see the lake sparkling with ice.

DTW to LAX and LAX TO DTW AND SAN JOSE AIRPORT TO DTW: two stops Neveda or LV.. *UGH* Three different planes I rode.. Southwest, United and Contintieal(sp)
PHX to DTW: Once straight one way non-stop.

I have also flown on a cessna, a airplane that only holds 5 people, including the pilot!! I only flew about 30 miles, but it is really scary because you can feel every little jolt the plane makes, and it sounds and feels like you are flying on a lawnmower!!

Cathay Pacific
Qantas
Air New Zealand
Emirates
Air Canada
Lufthansa
Singapore Airliner
British Airways
Aeroflot (Soviet plane)
Dan Air
Britannia

Cathay Pacific is excellent plane, good service, nice food, excellant, and I almost forgot to re-book my seat to flight home, my hotel manager in Hong Kong came to my room to give me a friendly reminder if I still want plane home!! Unfortunately it is expensive to book this plane today!!

Emirates - good plane albeit it is Arab's plane, I hope to fly with it again in the future as I want to spend few days at Dubai (my cousin's holiday home) as it is awesome to see Dubai Airport selling lots of gold jewellery and rugs!!
I was lucky to asked to shift my Economy seat for Business class because the passenger who bought business class ticket want to take over my seat to sit next to his girlfriend at the back!! Food they served is Kosher made, and it is lovely cuisine foods. There are good subtitles foreign films with english languages!

All other planes are ok - pretty much the same all except Aeroflot, Britannia and Dan Air.

My first flew to Hawaii island (Honoulu) when I was 5. Afterwards, I've been flew on Alaska, Frontier, United and Northwest airlines. I think Alaska and Frontier are best ones so far. Regular airline Frontier is cheapest fare ever I flew in.
