Favorite way to travel.

If you have to travel long distances (without crossing the ocean), and you don't wanna drive, how would you get there? I would prefer to drive or take a train. I have always loved trains, build model trains, and have MS Train Simulator.

I would take an airplane, as it is much quicker.
But, if I had a lot of time and money, I would love to go on a road trip around the country. It is one of my dreams to do that, and I have done that a bit in Europe once in my life. I drove through 4 countries in 2 weeks. It was a wonderful experience seeing the countries.

well count me in.. I would go for anything depending on the reasons... if you are on a tight schedule and short time on vacation, I'd recommend to go for planes, otherwise if I have longer vacation and cruizin' through then I'd go by car, van, RV, bus, train, whatever... I've touched 47 all my life and I'm only 21 geez.... My first flight was from Denver to Milwaukee then to Baltimore two week ago, fun and enjoyable flying in a big plane, small plane suck!

taking ROAD TRIPS is the BEST!!!!!!!!!! i LOVE driving and checking out different things, scenery and etc etc!!!!! im going to be DRIVING from DC area to St Louis, MO next month yayaya!!!! *looking forward to the drive*

if im in such a HURRY and no time permits me to drive then ahh ill fly i hate flying now cuz its just so BORING, the air is recycled and once i land on solid ground i feel so DEHYDRATED even tho i had been drinking plenty of water on the flight or eating ice and besides the flight food SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! and now a days with post 9/11 the security has skyrocketed (to my support yes) but gawd it takes FOREVER sometimes *smh* --

once when i was coming back to the DC area from Colorado -- i had to pull out my DL THREE times for security checks and matches with my flight tix and blahhsie -- was annoying but ahh we all want to be assured of safety while in the air ofc

I had a fear of flying but it's no choice for me to fly right away... so were little scared when I got on... after the takeoff I like it but driving... best

Both - depending on where I go... road trips r more visiable, but if I have to go to Europe - a plane will do! I will take the train around the country of England this summer, so it would be an interesting mode of transport for me at this time.

It just depends on what kind of trip it is. Sometimes I take the plane, sometimes I drive. I have never traveled far on a bus nor a train before. I would like to try them someday.

I've never done a proper tour across USA -- but that is one of the aims I'm aiming for in the next 5 to 10 years when I come back to USA for a holiday or something.
I've always used plane for long trips --5 times from LAX to SFO during the 2 years stint in L.A.
I think I must have racked up over 90 roundtrip flights from Oakland, CA to Lake Tahoe, Nevada during the year I worked as Transportation Aide at my alumni school in Fremont.
Then twice overseas...one from SFO/LAX/New Zealand and Melbourne, Australia. Then from Melbourne to SFO in 2001. Twice across the nation from California to Maryland and vice versa.

I vote plane but for Europe is a different. It would be lovely when you drive around Europe with beautiful view. I only take plane to travel overseas.

I didn't vote in the poll because none of the answers really fit.

I prefer driving trips around the States. If I am in a hurry, or if I could travel overseas, I would fly. So it depends on where and when I am travelling.

In the past I have used the train, bus, and plane for long trips. Hate the bus trips but they were cheap and I was young and poor.

None of the polls really fit my answer either. I ENJOY driving trips --- you get to see the countryside, landscapes, historic sites, and so on. A true traveller would drive... (heh!) But my second choice would be airplane -- it gets to places much quicker and overseas. I have never tried train but wouldn't mind to someday.
