Usually it's unemployed people or people who are on social security that complain about illegal immigrants publicly. Just saying... I know certain upper-class gripe about it as well, but they word the issues differently.

Dunno, it seems like people who have decent jobs rarely talk about these kind of things.

So why are you griping? No one else is... except for the politicians and wannabe-politicians.

Btw, my ancestors APPLIED to immigrate into this country, none of them ever came into the country illegally. They waited a long time to get here, but they got here nonetheless.

If anyone wants to live in America, you hafta go through the process just like everyone else.

Plus, there's obvious health and security reasons too. Would you like someone coming to America with a virus that could potentially kill millions? Perhaps thousands? That's why we screen people. And if anyone could come in at any given time w/o background checks, we're inviting terrorists into our country.

Here's the thing... my ancestors came to America and Canada legally... but back in 1840s to 1860s, it wasn't really hard to get legal citizenship since all you needed was some money and a land lease. However they went through Prussia and France and various other countries "illegally" so to say to escape from Crazy Czar Alex.

And we were heavily stigmatized by society for "taking jobs," "taking land," "being pacifists" until the 1960s when "peacekeeping" became a popular idea among Canadians. Some of the bitterness still persist today. Sad that it took a hundred year before things became more lax in term of discrimination, eh?

Anyone who prefers the justice system in North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, or Turkey is welcome to go spend the rest of their life there.

Perhaps someone needs to refresh their memory, or perhaps read it for the first time, the inscription on the Statue of Liberty.

And spend some time learning about immigration laws, as well. Illegal immigrants are not automatically entitled to any citizenship rights simply because they have crossed our border.

The jobs they "take from hardworking Americans" are the ones nobody else wants to do, and they do it dirt cheap. Illegal immigrants are the backbone of this economy and have been for a long time. I can guarantee that if suddenly every illegal immigrant were to disappear, this country would dwindle into chaos within weeks.

And let's just come out with it already: when you say "illegal immigrants" what you really mean are MEXICANS. And when you say Mexican, you mean all brown skinned, Latin American ethnicities together cause you're too ignorant to even see a difference.

It's easy to hate a group of people when you don't know any of the individual members of the group. I live with "illegal immigrants" in my community. Most of these people are hard working people who are trying to support their children and elders. I respect these people. Generally, they are very family-oriented and kind.

The racism here is strange. No one thinks anything about a white person marrying a Latino or Latina. That's common. I have a sister in law who is a first generation American with Mexican heritage.

The racism is based on class. The new immigrants who haven't been here for a couple of generations are discriminated against. It's intersection of race and class.

None of that negates my statement. Without border regulation there is no way to keep out people who want to do harm to American citizens.

If anything, history proves my point. Without border regulation, the original population in North America lost their sovereignty.

That's baloney. I've never lumped different ethnic groups together. In fact, I've done the opposite in real life (which you have no clue about). Just because I want our borders protected doesn't mean I wish ill will on the people who try to enter with good intentions.
