There are people who have lived in America all their lives that want to do harm to American citizens. Remember the good ole Unibomber or Timothy McVeigh? Go on the net and check out the proliferation of hate groups and separtist extremists that exist. They most certainly pose more danger to this country than the immigrants do.

I said "our country"--that is, the United States of America. Prior to our establishment as an independent sovereign nation, we didn't have official borders or Federal immigration policies. There was no USA when the Mayflower landed.

fair enough. you're right.

one more thing - I do not believe these illegals should have same benefits as us (legal residents). They should not get driver license or whatsoever (except emergency care & public school) but I think our immigration policy (which may reek of xenophobia) shouldn't be that tough on them like "deport them all!" Majority of illegals came here for "better life" and I sympathize. I ain't complaining cuz they're doing the jobs that majority of Americans do not want to. Worse of all - they ain't complaining and they're doing hard work for little money. I recognize their significant contribution to our economy. It's why the politicians turn a blind eye on them.

However - there are some illegals who are actually dangerous - both criminals and terrorists. But not really a major concern for me since majority of terrorism in here are domestic dissents.
