I just read an interesting article about how to protect other planets from Earth microbes from Space.com. It has made me wondered about the planets which contain life and aliens who might want to make first contacts with our people.

Should we use a careful and diligent approach to make contacts with aliens?

What and how will you do with them?

Supposedly we find life in other planets and their moons in the solar systems (including ours). How can we deal with them without contaminating them? And you see different cultures and political structures of aliens there, how will you deal with them? Just respect them? change them into your way?

Respect them, and try to learn what their way of doing and being is. Find out what may be superior to us.

I don't believe there is life on other planets, so there is nothing we must do about it.

Good answer. Personally, I find it very arrogant for humans to assume that they are the only intelligent life in this world.

funny thing is... the aliens ask themselves exactly the same question about us

First of all, if there are some aliens out there to visit us on Earth, the Pope will definitely order his team to kill the aliens BECAUSE the Pope does not want our people to discover that God is part of the alien that visited on Earth a few thousands of years ago.

I think that we should stick with our religious no matter what, and they should never hurt the aliens and welcome them so that we can learn their technologies and medicines.

We should be careful with them since we may kill them with our viruses alike white men did when they first met native people with their dieases.

If Aliens come to our earth, then they have to respect our culture but we have to respect them if we visit them from other plant....

I have wondered why the U.S. government have not told us the full and complete truth about the 1947 Roswell incident. They claimed that it was a weather balloon which was a complete utterly BS.

Is there another intelligent lifeform? Absolutely... we have several on our own planet Earth. Are they sentimental beings? One can argue back and forward about the ones currently on Earth. Now if you means technologically-advanced beings? We can only speculate. So, let us bypass the whole "intelligent lifeforms" at the moment, since know that alien bacterias do exist from our knowledge of meteorites.

However what is true that if we explore other planets, moons and asteroids, we would inevitably introduce lifeforms (microbes, parasites and so on) from our own Earth-- and the ethical question is, do we have the right to infringe ourselves on unknown ecosystems unrelated to us?
