All Countries Politics Dirty

Angela Merkel used Scandal Against Kohl

Kohl and his party were damaged by a financial scandal in the late 1990s, and in the 1998 elections the CDU lost power to the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and its leader, Gerhard Schröder. Merkel used the scandal to push Kohl and other CDU leaders aside, and in 2000 she became chair of the party. Although the CDU lost to the SPD again in the 2002 parliamentary elections, Merkel remained the party’s leader.

She sees you, and you know that if you just asked her her name, you would leave with her. Forget your life, whoever you came with, and leave the beach with her. And after that day, you remember. Not every day, every week... she comes back to you. It's the memory of another life you could have had. Today is that girl.

Of course, all countries politics are dirty.

The link, you post doesn't relate the title of thread. I can see many missing in that link -example donation scandal what I witnessed on TV that Helmut Kohl & his some political supporters CHOOSE to walk off to leave Angela alone with her supporters to fresh start because they don't like Angela's decision for end the "Kohl system"/"Kohl era" to have her own path soon after donation scandal hit CDU party real hard.

Helmut Kohl's financial scandal soon after Berlin Wall pulled down in 1990s and donation scandal soon after Gerhard Schroeder win at first election in 1999 were already to the public thru media long before Angela Merkel criticized ("remind") him and want to have her own way instead of use "Kohl system". Kohl choose to walk off...and leave her to fresh start for the party without him. I do not see anything that Angela use scandal against Kohl but she handle correct for not want to use Kohl system/era. I also don't see anything that she push or throw him out but it's Kohl's choice to walk off.

You should compare Angela Merkel and Gerhard Schroeder with Obama and McCain, not Helmut Kohl. Merkel & Schroeder criticized each other over disagree on political issues like Obama and McCain which is normal BUT... Merkel and Schroeder did not use the people's name to ed to boost their votes.

Helmut Kohl lost his 3rd election to Gerhard Schroder due financial scandal in 1998. One year later again donation scandal... Merkel and her political supporters can't afford to have him in their party... that's why Merkel firmed with him to accept her own way instead of use his Kohl system.

Anyway, Gerhard Schroeder tried and fail with unemployment rate reduce and improve economy. Germans gave him 2nd chance because we cannot trust CDU thru scandals but there're no future if Germans give Schroeder's 3rd chance... so they try to give Merkel chance after learn that she use her own way instead of use Kohl system and also because Angela said that reduce unemployment rate and improve economy is her high goal. She done her job well.. Many Germans don't have any complaints about her.

Anytime you have more than 3 people in a group--there will always be politics and corruption.
