Global Climate Change

Global Climate Change

This is very interesting information in that website. As you can browse on the tab on left column. There is a lot of interesting information that we can get.

It's unfortunate that the global climate has affected worldwide. Hopefully we can do something of a change, such as less fossil fuel, and things like that.

Feel free to discuss here

Well I am sorry, I would rather to listen to the scientists about the science over the governments about the science.

Just in the newspaper here this morning, Iowa is 2 degrees warmer now than in the 1880's. They are connecting this to the flooding we have been having.

I believe it actually do exist. I can tell how much the weather change differently, much unlike, 1990's and 2000's where I grew.

I love a new idea is Earth Day. I think it's so great for new step

Thanks for link in the first post. It's very good information and so interesting

even Pentagon published the report about confirming global warming as a real threat to its national security but White House dismissed it.

The Pentagon’s report on global warming
Does Global Warming Compromise National Security?

and many more...

my friend's article -
Quote:
According to a report by U.S. intelligence agencies, the effects of global warming could create instability in delicate governments around the world, causing a potential threat to American national security.

Extreme droughts, flooding, weather, and hunger are likely to increase dramatically in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Central and Southeast Asia as global warming gets worse. If the conditions in these areas become unlivable, the U.S. could face an enormous influx of illegal immigrants literally fighting for their lives.

Deputy director of national intelligence for analysis, Tom Finger, spoke before a joint House committee meeting to read a prepared statement. Among the conclusions reached by the report, Fingar stated, ''We judge that the most significant impact for the United States will be indirect and result from climate-driven effects on many other countries and their potential to seriously affect U.S. national security interests."

The report is one of a series requested by Congress to assess the possible effects of climate change, and is the work of top analysts of all 16 U.S. spy agencies. This report dealt with the national security implications of global warming up to the year 2030. Unfortunately, by then we could already be experiencing some of the worst effects.

The report estimates that an expected rise in droughts in Africa could cut their crop yields by as much as half in the next 12 years. Southeast and Southern Asia face a 10 percent decline of their staple rice and grain crops.

The report also says that even though the world's supply of potable water will likely increase due to melting glaciers, the population and consumption boom will erase all effects of it. As many as 50 million new people could face hunger by the year 2020.

Well, I think it has to do with " evil " that has been going on and it gets worse. People may think that " evil " is harmless, just because people are way too OPEN to people's preferences in society nowdays. No body cares anymore just, because of its style that people do everyday and it is recognized everywhere.

Do people really care about so called ' Global Warming " ? I don't think so. I believe it has to do with " secret society " that cause it. The Skull and Bones.

I don't know about you or anyone in this AD, but that's my view how it has change this world and its effect.

We are just the White House's puppets to believe what they want us to hear... to prevent panic. Pssh

Wow, the top of that page shows 50mm of sea level rise since 1992. That was about when I learned about global warming. Since I learned about it, the seas went up 5 cm. Looks like it'll be higher once my little niece is my age.

Here's a page about those maps on the back of seed packets that tell you when to plant stuff. Those may have to be changed. Drag the slider under the map on the page to see the difference between the 1990 Dept. of Agriculture map and the 2006 National Arbor Day Foundation map. My parents' home and my current location were near the edge of zones 3 and 4 on the 1990 map. They're in zone 4 on the 2006 map.

Lakes in the Arctic in places like Siberia are releasing methane from decaying organic matter released as the permafrost thaws. Here's a page with a picture of someone setting some of that methane on fire. It's a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2.

The loss of the arctic ice means not as much ice to reflect sunlight back into space. Greenland ice is also melting faster. The meltwater gets under the ice and makes the ice slide to the sea faster, so it goes in sooner.
