Actually, marijuana has not been shown, conclusively, to cause any form of brain damage. Alcohol, on the other hand, is responsible for not just brain damage (known as Korsakov's Syndrome or "wet brain") it also is responsible for liver disease, digestive disorders, and alcohol poisoning leading to death.

Marijuana does effects the memory and learning. Question is how focused are they when they smoked marijuana?

My husband is a pot head.I got stories to tell on that one.Pot has done more harm to my marriage than anything.

This is your brain....this is your brain on drugs. The whole point of the commercial was the implication that drugs caused brain damage (i.e. "fried" the brain.) You mentioned the commercial, and said it was one of the best ever. Therefore, it was assumed that you agreed with the message the commercial intended; and that message was that drugs caused brain damage.

There is no proof that marijuana impedes learning, or that it causes memory problems. I explained that in a previous post.

I've seen people who smoked marijuana, I've seen their reaction, and their behavior. It wouldn't be illegal if marijuana doesn't effect the brain.

754664 Quit both 6 1/2 years ago. Long history with both. Weed much safer driving. Drinking takes away your sense of reality. And response poor.... then the dangerous drunk phase. Unawares you are drunk at all. Weed actually tunes you in. Unless way too much.
Weed make ya lazy over time. and no motivations. Too much time looking for it and money. Booze chasin down another half-rack or bottle. Booze twist your thinking over time.
Nascar still BORING even drunked up. *#*#@*. smh

Sorry I disagree, it's people's rights to damage their brain if they want to. But keep in mind, nobody died from marijuana while there are 50,000 people died from alcohol every year according to my post in the Marijuana thread on 9th page.

I don't buy government's stories about the marijuana, they are just looking for the money and control their population, no wonder they want us to drink or smoke the cigarettes instead of marijuana.

Why is Marijuana Illegal?

It's an interesting read, I was aware of this years ago. It is pretty obvious that the dangers of marijuana has been one big propaganda machine and a very effective one.
