Cool Pregnant Woman Accused of Assault at Bar

Pregnant Woman Accused of Assault at Bar

ROCHESTER, Pa. (AP) - A woman who is seven months pregnant is accused of smashing a beer bottle against a bartender's head after she was refused another drink. Police said Keisharra Abercrombie, 30, assaulted the female bartender on Saturday after being told she shouldn't be drinking alcohol.

Police say Abercrombie also smashed a glass over the bartender's ear and head.

Authorities said the bartender's ear was partially detached. A surgeon in Pittsburgh used two staples and 28 stitches to reattach the top of the ear.

Abercrombie was arraigned Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and reckless endangerment. She was in the Beaver County Jail on $25,000 bail.

I think this pregnant woman should know better not to drink period!

Well, When a woman is pregnant, I still don't agree that she should be drinking alochol while pregnant. That is still putting the baby's health at risk.

Agreed.

Why does she need an alcohol in the first place when she could have known that it harms the baby?

I think she should also be charged with a "fetal" endangerment -- if there was ever a law that had been invented. Maybe there's a law that relates to this but again, each state varies.

The sad thing is, I've even known some pregnant women who smokes cigarettes, takes drugs and do things that can harm the fetus. Now, that is definitely whacked.

Yep I agree with you all above. I seen so many babies suffered from the side of effects of brooze and drugs it become a bad addiction. Women should know better that a baby is innocent and don't deserve to be put through so much trauma. That breaks my heart.

With all we know about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, it just amazes me that anyone would continue to drink if they are pregant. If her child is born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, there are charges that can be made after the birth, just as a mother whose baby is born addicted to drugs can be charged with criminal offense.

Yupp that's right, but I was pointing to her that she assault a waitress with the beer bottle, that seems too emotionally..

I, too, am appalled at such actions like this one. I just don't get it. I mean, really, Why would a pregnant woman go to such lengths to harm a baby? After all, She's carrying it for 9 months.

I suppose that the alcoholism has gotten such a hold on her that she simply doesn't think. But, once she becomes pregant, she has the responsibility to undergo treatment for alcoholism or drug addiction and stay clean for that child's sake. Or better yet, use birth control until your addiction is under control. But I guess someone that is irresponsible enough to drink and drug while pregnant can't be expected to be responsible enough to take birth control. It is messed up.

Yeah me too, Unless she haven't really felt real for her that she having a baby like it "sur-real" and haven't hit home yet to her. But I have to agree with you and jilo.
