Working Moms Healthier

Many conservatives say that moms should be stay at home housewives and that working outside of the family is bad for them. A new study shows otherwise:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,195496,00.html

"Women who juggle career and family tend to be thinner and healthier as they approach midlife than long-term stay-at-home moms, a new study suggests. "

And yet, the same page had this story:

Mom's Work Schedule Affects Child's Learning

A growing number of moms with young children have odd work schedules, often because they have few other options. But new research suggests their kids may lag behind in terms of language and other early developmental skills.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,147124,00.html

...and this:

Many New Moms Return to Work Before Full Childbirth Recovery

More than half of new moms in the U.S. work outside the home, and researchers suggest that many are returning to work before their bodies have fully recovered from childbirth.

It seems there are always surveys pro and con for every issue.

Accord one of Reba's link post.

Quote:
The Family and Medical Leave Act requires covered employers to grant the parent of a newborn 12 weeks of unpaid leave. McGovern says most women don’t know that they can spread that leave out and work part time when they return to their jobs, if their doctor certifies that it is medically necessary
.

I feel it's rather too early to go back to work after 12 weeks.

We stay home up to 3 years mother care due materity leave until they goes to their first kindergarten age 3 then go back to work... Spend our time to enjoy our motherhood for 3 years before go back to work due employee rights here in Germany.

I wish that I did not have to go back to work after only 6 weeks. I was OK physically but I don't think it was good for my baby, and it was very hard for me emotionally.

Some of the young ladies at the college where I work go back to class after just one week. (None of them are Deaf students for whom I interpret.) I personally know four young ladies last semester that came back to school one week after their babies were born.

Practically I've been full mom 1991-1998 then seeking a job... laid me off then seek another job.. felt alike back full mom again? I don't have toddler children here.. Only they are grown big kid as pre-teenager stage right now... I don't need full mom and want a job sooner.. *sigh*
Thanks to my hometown is small and hard to get a job... (still thinking about outside my home town or outside of province or country) wha..ever depends they willing hiring me a job..

full mom always normal health and can be poor health "DEPEND THE FAMILY HISTORY BACKGROUND GENES"
Not that reason caused full mom as side effect? I do not think so!

Ah, these nuclear age changed all that from the old and long tradition for the mothers! Money talks for the most part.

It's rather not so good for the most part due to the children's lack of parental attention and time .. and thus of their lack of behavior learning and such.

More and more mothers are working out on their own home businesses (more via online) that's growing more popular and rather fast due to the advantages being at home more time for their kids and for their leverage working for the financial freedom. I think that it is great for them.
