Is Domestic Terrorism far severe threat than International Terrorism?

New topic surfaced from Farrakhan Laments thread. Domestic Terrorism seems too general to discuss it, but it is acceptable to discuss all kinds of domestic terror threats.

Napolitano acknowledged that lone wolf terror threats growing.

Bin Laden may be gone, and Al Qaeda may be weakened, but not gone. There are new threats like lone wolf terrorists. It was believed that Norwegian gunman acted alone in Norway, so he is labeled as a lone wolf terrorist.

Two years ago, the guy flew his plane into the IRS building in Austin, TX, because he was fed up with IRS.

The list goes on.

I don't recall if FBI literally said that lone wolf terrorists are difficult to detect until so.. you know after something awful happens. I believe the threat is very real.

Lone Wolf terrorists are dangerous because they're unpredictable and because they claim no real affiliation to any group, so their motives are not so clear cut. They are every bit as dangerous as terrorist abroad because they blend in. People didn't assume it was an American that blew up a federal building on our home soil because it seemed inconceivable that an American would target and kill his/her own people - but it happened. They continue to be a threat and it's likely only going to get worse, not better.

Incidentally, I've always found the term "lone wolf" an unusual choice of words because wolves aren't solitary creatures. They're pack animals and they have an instinctive need to belong to a family and bond. A lone wolf is essentially a sick animal, or one that has been cast out because of perceived weakness or loss of status. It seems to me to be an insult to the animal to dignify terrorists with this term because they're just Hell bent on destroying a way of life and not contributing to society that way wolves contribute to the environment.

May I direct your attention to a whole different group of people, or several...

Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System, and people below him.

Wall Street firms involved in the fraudulent stock market that is NYSE and elsewhere. This includes among others, Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan, Jon Corzine former of MF Global, and so on.

The Congress people who dreamed up Dept. Homeland Security and TSA, and the people who work to enforce unconstitutional laws in these departments.

These people are out to destroy this country. Who will pick up the pieces when it's all overwith? Native Americans along with La Raza, MEChA, and so on.

Let's hope it's just Native American Indians. They were here first.

Well, ironically that's just as extreme a view as the domestic terrorists have, and like them, not accurate.

I never thought of these people you mentioned as terrorists, but maybe I need re-education?? They haven't bombed us, so I'm not afraid of them. I worry about a new al quaeda group forming and planning to bomb us like bin Ladin did. So I would say foreign terrorists worry me more than domestic terrorists. Tim McVey is the only domestic terrorist I remember.

Yes, we have.

"The 1993 World Trade Center bombing occurred on February 26, 1993, when a truck bomb was detonated below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York, NY. The 1,336 lb (606 kg) urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device[1] was intended to knock the North Tower (Tower One) into the South Tower (Tower Two), bringing both towers down and killing thousands of people.[2][3] It failed to do so, but did kill six people and injured more than a thousand.[4] The attack was planned by a group of conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal A. Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj. They received financing from Khaled Sheikh Mohammed, Yousef's uncle. In March 1994, four men were convicted of carrying out the bombing: Abouhalima, Ajaj, Ayyad and Salameh. The charges included conspiracy, explosive destruction of property and interstate transportation of explosives. In November 1997, two more were convicted: Yousef, the mastermind behind the bombings, and Eyad Ismoil, who drove the truck carrying the bomb."

Also, attacks on American property (ships, embassies, military facilities) are also attacks against America.

2000 USS Cole Bombing
"The USS Cole bombing was a suicide attack against the United States Navy destroyer USS Cole on October 12, 2000, while it was harbored and refueled in the Yemen port of Aden. Seventeen American sailors were killed, and 39 were injured. This event was the deadliest attack against a United States Naval vessel since 1987.
The terrorist organization al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attack. A U.S. judge has held Sudan liable for the attack, while another has released over $13 million in Sudanese frozen assets to the relatives of those killed. The American Navy has reconsidered their rules of engagement in response to this attack."

1998 US Embassy Bombings
"The 1998 United States embassy bombings were a series of attacks that occurred on August 7, 1998, in which hundreds of people were killed in simultaneous truck bomb explosions at the United States embassies in the East African capitals of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. The date of the bombings marked the eighth anniversary of the arrival of American forces in Saudi Arabia.[1] The attacks were linked to local members of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, brought Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri to the attention of the American public for the first time, and resulted in the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation placing bin Laden on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Fazul Abdullah Mohammed would be credited for being the mastermind behind the bombings...."

1983 Beirut Barracks Bombing
"The Beirut Barracks Bombing (October 23, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon) occurred during the Lebanese Civil War, when two truck bombs struck separate buildings housing United States and French military forces—members of the Multinational Force in Lebanon—killing 299 American and French servicemen. The organization Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the bombing.
Suicide bombers detonated each of the truck bombs. In the attack on the American Marines barracks, the death toll was 241 American servicemen: 220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel and three Army soldiers, along with sixty Americans injured, representing the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima of World War II, the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States military since the first day of the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War, and the deadliest single attack on Americans overseas since World War II. In addition, the elderly Lebanese custodian of the Marines' building was killed in the first blast. The explosives used were equivalent to 5,400 kg (12,000 pounds) of TNT.
In the attack on the French barracks, the eight-story 'Drakkar' building, two minutes after the Marine attack, 58 paratroopers from the 1st Parachute Chasseur Regiment were killed and 15 injured, in the single worst military loss for France since the end of the Algerian War. The wife and four children of a Lebanese janitor at the French building were also killed.
The blasts led to the withdrawal of the international peacekeeping force from Lebanon, where they had been stationed since the withdrawal of the Palestine Liberation Organization following the Israeli 1982 invasion of Lebanon...."

You posted that we've "never" been bombed by foreign terrorists. You didn't state a deadline.

For that matter, Kaczynski's latest was 1995, Rudolph's latest was 1998, and OK City bombing was 1995. Those weren't exactly recent either, and they weren't after 9/11.

When I said "bombing", I was thinking of the 9/11 planes that were used by foreign terrorists. I used the wrong word.

9/11 might as well have been a bombing as it used large airplanes with lots of fuel to accomplish the same message (TERRORISM!).

Domestic terrorists are generally harder to catch as they don't chatter with as many sources but some do eventually talk and that is their downfall. A domestic terrorist can come in many forms and varieties such as disgruntled customers, terminated employees, love gone bad, hate and disdain for the government. In my business we say it is not if it is when! Sad! Mostly besides preparation (training) all we can do is react!

Then you have NO CLUE. I've researched these people for a long time. It's what I used to do 40-50 hours a week for over 6 years!

Therein lies the problem. The people in power keep coming up with enemies to keep us occupied about threats and distract us from the real thing - it's a HOLY WAR between Christians and Muslims this time around, with the former being aggressors.

You have to understand that you don't declare or wage war against a nation unless you were attacked by a military force. Were these guys with box cutters military personnel with the full accoutrement of battle gear?

If you were invaded by an army, you would want to defend your country the same. We had no business invading the middle eastern countrries, and we also had no business prodding them into action prior to the middle eastern wars. You need to read the history of American imperialism of the 20th century. This is Rome all over again. Muslims simply want to be left alone so they can live their lives as they see fit.

These people I named are guilty of a whole host of crimes related to financial repression. I can do a massive dump of web sites where you can do years of research and still never get all the answers, just a much clearer picture of how the world REALLY works.

The statement that you are afraid of these groups forming in the US indicates that you really don't know how things really work. You've been lied to. Mark my words.
