ZX2 Escort goes into semi-retired...Just got a Isuzoo

Put me front of Jiro --- I am not that far away from Knoxville... :o

WRX -- hmm - does she race it at the empty shopping center parking lot with other WRX owners/drivers?

The SUV is beautiful - it looks lots better than the one I had (it was beige.)

lol she already got her mitts on me but I like to keep it open :) at least living with her for 4 years was a LOT better than being married for 2 years lol.

Anyways I got a list of things to do with the zoo like:

1) new or used rear bumper
2) replace the sensors cuz it was throwing off a CEL code after the dealer and I had ran thru the OBDII computer.
3) change the oil at a oil change place a friend of mine manages there
4) clean up the mud off door sills a bit better
5) replace a blown fuse on the dome light

sorry but roomie and gf are different.

Nice SUV. Isuzu is very rare here, though a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission in a SUV is even more rarer in the 2000s.

Yeah I considered getting a Ford Explorer but I cudnt find a 4 door XLS with manual so I was fuck it get the best SUV with 5 speed I could find in town and bam the Isuzu was just sitting there. Seems it truly called for me lol.

Grr the dependence on AUTO transmissions is made my search for stickshifts pretty tougher than it was in the 90s and early 2000s.

Yeah, they're ditching manual transmissions for auto in more cars...remember in the past that mini vans had manual transmissions, even some of the big pick up trucks too. I do like manual transmission as it's more fun to drive. :)

Nice Isuzu, congrats for your new truck. :)

Nice truck Sable :thumb:

So the Escort is going to the junk yard eh?

wow, y'all do know how to drive with Manual Transmission??? Lolz, I thought most deafies peepz only using Automatic transmission because it's easy for us to communication as a chat before wreck other car! By the way, I am idiot about Manual Transmission, lmao. Congrat that you got a fine truck ;-)

I do know a lot of deafies do drive stickshifts including me. Both my cars are manual and I just dont like automatics.

I've been driving nothing but stickshifts for the past 17 years. From time to time I will be forced to drive an automatic car and u know what I do with it?....

I NEVER let it shift by itself, I just shove the gear lever from 1 to 2 to D to OD manually.

And hell I had other deafies ride with me while driving stickshifts and I just handle it fine talking, shift, talking. its great gives a pause between convos in the car lol.

Learning a manual is so simple. Only problems are how to push in the clutch pedal AND move the stick at the same time plus smooth movement of clutch pedal from dead stop to getting the vehicle to go. It just takes a lot of practice.

Well, I do like to learn about gear level from 1 to 2 to D to OD but what about Reverse? Clutch Pad?! No way, you mean There will have a three Pads like Clutch Pad, Brake Pad, and Drive Pad in the car, if so then i do not wanna to trying one, lolz! All is i want to learn about Forklift driving... right now i have to take a class until next month.. Thanks for some information :)

I love manuals...on a honeymoon my wife and i borrowed a almost brand new jeep with 6 spd. the jeep was cj-like and it flies on highway at 6 spd lol it was fun. my car, unfortunely is an automatic but one of those days i'll get myself a 5 spd.

UPDATE:

Spoiled by the zoo, I found it so damn impossible to drive the ZX2 yesterday. I gave up on the car after only 2 miles of driving and went back to the zoo for the rest of a trip lol.

lol!

I would like to own something bigger but with a manual transmission. :) I am tired of my little Honda, but I have to pay it off first pffft.

Nice new SUV, Sab.

Yup, I noticed that manual transmission is rare in SUV and big pick-up in after 2000's but for me, I rather to drive with automatic transmission and had tried manual before.

I would love to own SUV or big pick-up but big pick-up (F-150 or Silverado) are most preferred, however I'm going off to school soon and need get regular car for right now.

UPDATE:

After a week with the zoo, I'm loving it more than I do my old ZX2. The zoo may not have sports car handling like the ZX2 does, but she does get it all there with her 5 gears :) It's like my old 1994 Ford Ranger decided to come back as a 4 door SUV lol.

I have to be really lucky I found the zoo at the right time as I cant stand automatic SUV's. She's got a bit more work to be done like getting the CEL light codes done with so I can extingush the damn CEL light. Plus she could use a bit power out of that 2.2 litre GM Holden motor for going up hills easy.

It's a SUV after all, they cannot handle as good as a car since of higher center of gravity usually.

This in the bold, maybe you could do some aftermarket mods to the engine to get a little more punch, like a supercharger or a cold air intake kit to start with.
