If anyone is curious enough, they need to refigure this timeline. AlleyCat mentions 3am in the US but does not say which time zone! And then there is the difference in time between NZ and the US.
 
oh lordy not doing time line tonight nearly my bedtime but if I come back at your 9pm I having a real bad night,but mostly when this old machine go off it don't come back on for about 12hrs..
the thought of bed and nights sleep wonderful but wont get it the bed kills my back..i can understand if up 3am it possible may post something you regret next day but as rr and me say I read grums posts for 5years yes he can be caustic at times but never once have I seen anything obcene,he put science and arty stuff up that's all I ever saw....so come on grum take your punishment apologise don't be naughty...in his defence I believe he under phenominal stress
 
Well...I actually think Grummer wanted to get banned...that's right...he mentioned that he leaving AD...I dunno why_...and I told him not to that we looked forward to his posts....So....if he's gone for good, I'll miss him...not for the pix he posted....he was nice to me....so whatever the case...If you're out there Grummer...Hello!...

I don't think he can apologize and have everything forgiven.

There are specific timelines for bans and amounts of time depending on how many offences.

Grummer is getting up there to enough that he may be perma banned, or on a six month suspension right now.

To draw an analogy...if you were to come to my house would you prefer to get to decide how things are run in my house or what kind of rules are set in my house? I sure wouldn't tromp into one of my friend's (or even family) and declare "this is how I want to run the show". Even here at my parents' - it's THEIR home- while I do have some freedom I also have to respect their space. That is how I view forums- it's a home with the owner as the well.. owner of the home. Technically the owner of the forum the AD home is Alex so I respect whatever rules he put into place. There are other forums out there that are a lot more... 'free' (and to a point likely 18 and over anyway). It isn't just nude pictures etc- it's also behavior that can be viewed as insulting, antagonistic, attempting to start a 'flame war' that most moderators watch for.

Yes everyone has their own style of writing/conversation but as Calvin mentioned, there is a limit on what is reasonable to post- according to AD's rules. If we set it to where it was 'according to everybody's rules' it would be near chaos with no moderation involved (IMHO).

TBH I think we do need to move on regarding Grummer and why he was banned or when he's coming back. What's done is done. As Botts said.. Some of what happened with Grum I don't think he could be forgiven for easily by some- and I'm not so sure he'd apologize as he'll say he has nothing to apologize for in his eyes. That is just my and only my opinion.

Oh good grief. He is nearly halfway around the world so his time zone is quite different from ours. There is only a few hours variance between United States time zones. The photo in question showed up here in the us at 3 am. It certainly wasn't 3 am in NZ. regardless, this is pointless. You don't go posting NSFW posts, do you, Jane? No, because you have common sense.

my hubby and I bumped into her on the streets of NYC heading to the First AD meetup. I started using rapid ASL with her and she had NO idea what I was saying so I realized she wasn't fluent in ASL and switched gears. All 3 of us spent about 30 mins in the freezing temps of NYC looking for the restaurant to meet the other ADers. Great memories. I don't remember her joining us to the bar afterwards.

She did go to the bar afterwards, guess you didn't see her around with the other AD'ers.

Edit: Also, speaking of 'rapid' ASL - I will have no problem conversing in rapid ASL this time ;)

Hi Shel and JClarke!

I remember you both! I'm still around stalking the website. Work keeps me busy. I wish I could go to the AD meet but I'm traveling for work that week.

Shel - I DO remember meeting you right before the last AD meet. All I could remember is how cold my hands were and how it was so hard to sign! And YES, you and your husband signed so quickly, lol!

Hope the AD meet goes well!!!!
