a bit surprised they didn't deploy but guessing that the airbags are set at a specific limit as to when to deploy-- anything 35 mph and under does not trigger them.
Although when my sister and niece (with my dad in the back seat) was involved in an accident in their Honda CRV- they were broadsided by another car- I can't remember where exactly on the passenger side the guy hit or how fast he was going (I have a pic somewhere). The driver's side airbag did deploy- I only remember as my sister got a minor burn on her hand/wrist from it.

she should get a lawyer to look into it if the airbag was defective or not.

I don't think the speed she was traveling should have made a difference. The force of impact should though. She didn't brake before hitting me and hit me really hard. The guy behind her didn't see her stop so he didn't brake either. He said he was looking back to see if he could merge and when he turned around there she was. He said he hit her very very hard. So she hit me enough to lift up my car and push it forward, then he hit her. After he hit her she hit me again. The air bags most definitely should have gone off in her car. It was a company car the same company and cars my husband uses from time to time.
As sore as I am right now she has to be really hurting. Her chest took the full force when it hit the steering wheel.
Maybe the airbags did not deploy since the front of her car was much lower then the back of mine. Amazing none of the cars looked like they had major damage but I'm sure it's there. I'm not driving my car until the body shop checks it out.
So AAA question to me was did you get hit twice or just once? If twice it was the lady behind me fault. If twice it was the guy behind her I guess. There was a 5th car too but he said he didn't hit the last guy but stopped to make sure we were OK.
I don't want to blame the wrong person so I guess we wait until we get the police report.

Angel, do not tell anyone about the root canal if you haven't already the other persons insurance company will use anything to try to get out of paying or laying the blame on someone else. Had a wreck October 2012 first time someone has ever hit me they'll try anything to make it look like others were to blame. And do not let them record any conversations. The other persons insurance will have to cover it all, medical, car repairs, car rental even your gas to and from the dr for it just keep good records plus they'll want to make a settlement aside from the expenses. I didn't take anything till the specialist I was seeing said I was cleared after 2 months of physical therapy and steroid shots in my neck then settled. They had to pay me right at $6,000 including medical expenses and everything else.
EDIT: I reread your last post, police reports are public documents after completed and lawyers offices get those and will send you papers wanting to represent you some of those will include a copy of the police report too. I got those from 5 or 6 different law firms and 3 of those had a copy of the police report.

I did not tell anyone about the root canal. There is zero percent chance that they would claim I was at fault. I am already disabled and this might make my condition worse. But...I am not going to sue anyone. It was an accident and we have great insurance. They have already called and it looks like they are going to go after the two cars behind me. I made sure the paramedics noted that I was injured but that I was going to see my own doctor. As long as I get my car fixed and my x-rays are good then I will just count my blessings.

Thats the main thing that your ok but they'll want you to sign a settlement before they pay anything to you or any medical bills. I wouldn't settle till the dr cut me loose and said I was fine then I signed the settlement agreement and they paid me $2000 plus all medical expenses, repairs and rental 100% of costs of the wreck. The other driver was 100% at fault and admitted it to the cop and he put that in the report and that I had no fault whatsoever to the wreck that helped me out. Guess I could have gotten a lawyer and got more $$$ but just wanted to make sure it didn't have a long term affect on me is what I was worried about so I settled with the adjuster myself.

That's true. I had an accident many years ago. It was a four-lane road, 45 mph limit. I was in the far right lane. The car that hit me came from the opposite direction, and crossed all four lanes to hit me head on. Even then, he claimed it was my fault. (The tire tracks proved otherwise but he tried anyway.) I really don't know why. His insurance covered the damages, and he had diplomatic immunity so he couldn't be punished.
He had a huge older Lincoln Continental, and I had a tiny 914 Porsche. My front end crunched up to the firewall (it was a mid-engine car, so the front was the trunk). I was dropping off an officer from my command at his car after work, and for some reason the driver of the other car claimed the officer was driving, not me. Believe me, I didn't let other people drive my Porsche! Even if there was doubt, we had proof of where we were each sitting. The officer's right gold collar bars were bent in half from his seat belt.
Now, the other driver's passenger hopped out of their car, carrying a brown bag, and ran away. He never did come back. The driver told security that they were on their way to deliver a chicken dinner to a hungry woman and her children. Yeah, right. These were two single male Iranian flight students, and they were driving on a military base. The driver had been drinking but was a tad under the legal limit for DUI. (A little background here--most of the Iranian flight students came from a dry culture and went berserk with alcohol when they came to America. They were also wealthy, and bought their cars with cash, and they were know for reckless driving.)
My point is, even when the evidence is against them, and there is no benefit in lying, people will do it.
If it turns out both drivers have the same insurance company, it can be even worse. They will try to settle for minimal amounts.
There's nothing wrong with using a personal injury lawyer (on contingency) to protect your interests.

When will Market Basket boycott be over. Food is going rotten and being throw into the dumpsters . Trucks loaded with food could not be delivered and had to throw away . That is horrible, that food could had gone to homeless shelters .

OMG I hurt so so bad from the car accident. From head to toe and everything in between. I hit my bad knee on the steering wheel so that hurts and also my right hip, probably from hitting the brake so hard. I think I am going to be freaked out to drive for awhile. Waiting for the body shop to call to get my car in to be looked at.
Hopefully in a few more days I will be over all of this.
Staying positve and making plans for a family trip when my daughter visits from Ireland.

I remember those days.....my son was on a traveling baseball team for many years. It seemed like the whole family was going off in all different directions.

Have you gone a doctor yet ? Wasn't the other person at fault , you should have their auto insurance pay for your DR. bills. I was freaking out after my car was totaled ,when I was in the passenger side of my ex husband car I would get upset when car got too close to our car. I was hit on passenger side when I was driving. I know what you mean . I hope you'll feel better soon.

Thank you very much. I will be seeing my doctor early next week. I don't think I could have made the trip today, too sore.
One of the two people behind me are at fault, possibly both...will have to wait to see what the CHP report shows.
