Ew, it is not going to be mass production... some deaf people dont have a good english grammar, so thats a downside... using an asl interpreter is wayy faster
 
It could be very useful in specific settings, for specific users. For the most part, the cost limits it to professional use. In a professional work setting, where the deaf consumer prefers English text for communicating with coworkers, vendors, clients, etc., it could be worth the expense. It could also be used in settings where there are frequent short notice but brief interactions between hearing and deaf.

Yes, it has uses but it's not a "one-size-fits-all" solution.

If it wasn't so expensive more people would probably use it.
 
One of our other AD members created his own version using two old TTY's tethered together. Not at as portable or "pretty" but it worked! :)

Yes, I remember someone talking about thiis. I used to have two Superprint TTYs, I have seen how it worked without having to use wires. :)
