I love gay people, I respect them and support gay marriage BUT there are some gay shows/characters that I dont like.......Will and Grace, Ellen show, plus a few others.........I totally love the show "Queer eye for the straight guy" and a show called rainbow flag or something on hbo, it has been a while without cable, I dont remember the exact name......but there are some gay shows i dont like......do you ever feel that way??

Queer as Folks -- it has Sharon Gless in it...I like that show -- it's been on SBS for a while now and every now and then, I see it on TV and watch it. I must admit it does go over board with sex. :P

I agree. Gay or straight, I prefer they keep it simple. When they go overboard with sex, it ruins the show. I don't mind when they have a conversation in a movie or television with something like this, "Are you sleeping with him?" or "How dare you sleep with him behind my back!" I do not like this, "Oh, I'm fucking him and it's so wonderful!" or "He's so great in bed!" No, I'm not just referring to gays/lesbians... I'm referring to also straight sex issues too. :nono:

The raunchy sex theme on Queer as Folk is exactly why I don't watch it. I prefer something with a real story to it, rather than just sex.

Sex does not sell, it's just a myth.

What is the top ten grossing movies of the year so far?

Shrek 2
The Passion of the Christ
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The Day After Tomorrow
Troy
50 First Dates
Van Helsing
Along Came Polly
Starsky and Hutch
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

Notice that none of these movies in the top ten use sex to sell?

A lot of people are duped into thinking sex sells when it does not.

44. Eurotrip
49. The Girl Next Door
76. The Dreamers

These three movies I mentioned, that's what they are ranked at and will be going down the list since it's not the end of 2004 yet. These three movies used sex heavily to market, yet they flopped.

Sex does not sell.

:werd: If I was looking for sex, I'd go straight to the source... hard-core porn! :naughty:

Righttttttttttttttt now they have a new show called the L word or the L thing, and I don t see much of the sex * unless i was mistaken* am behind somewhat, HOWEVER despite that, the only movies i TRULY do love is Better than choclate, and Bar girls its cute less sex but how they do it can turn a woman on LOL

Seriously, its best to not have sex on movies and get to the source, I think its been MOSTLY showing like this. a cheating movie, A death movie, a crime movie, a idenity crisis movie, and last but not the least a romance movie u can see the pattern going on there.

Actually, I really dislike "Queer As Folks" because it seems to thrive on the stereotypes of a "typical gay man who likes to sleep around." I wish it would show more positive aspects of gay men instead.

"Six Feet Under," although I haven't seen many episodes, isn't bad. It has a gay couple in it.

"Will and Grace" and "Ellen" are two of my favourite programmes involving gay themes.
My boyfriend and I watch "Will and Grace" all the time.

I remember "My So-Called Life" when I was in high school. It was a nice programme to watch.

and why do so many shows always HAVE TO/MUST show the man and the woman consumating their attraction, yet when they show gay/ lesbian characters, they rarely do anything- eg Willand Grace is all talk and no action, except for Grace who gets to actually bonk, while all will can do is talk about it.

The in your face sex, is exactly why I watch QUEER AS FOLK...and it's why some people don't like it, it shows Gay/lesbian sex in an unapologetic way. It makes no bones about it and it is in yer face, and therefore confronting.

QUEER EYE FOR A STRAIGHT GUY does trade on stereotypes...limp wristed queens telling a dumb ass how to get a life..PULLEASE...it is rubbish....and it is the one image of homosexuality that straights are comfortable with and some gays/lesbians I might add..cos it's CAMP and it is not threatening...there is something soothing about a gaggle of limp wristed nellies telling thedominat group- hetero-cough-sexuals...THE DUMB ASS GUY..how to improve himself to keep his woman...

can anyone not see the irony in that show..a poofter telling a straight guy about keeping a woman...

I like my stuff with a bit more balls than the rubbish that is currently being produced..try the prison drama OZ by HBO for size...man!
