I use Caption Call with a land line...And it is terrible. The captioning makes little sense and the captioner keeps getting disconnected.

Someone else I know uses it with FIOS, and it seems to work well - Or at least they do not complain about it.

Anyone else have problems with it?...Or have any advice?

No advice but I can say that when I used my CapTel phone with a landline about 15 years ago (!) it was HORRIBLE. Turned me off real quick. Still have the useless phone if anyone wants it.

The newer ones that connect through the internet seems to be better- mulling on getting one but I have a VRS phone right now so....

Thanks for reply. Do you have names of any of the Internet phones?...I am now using a land line (and the service is not what it used to be). So, switching to an Internet phone system would be more efficient.

Check with your state Vocational Rehab office- they might have resources. Same with many Audiologists. Every audio I've been to lately had some brochures...

here is a search result from google.
https://www.google.com/search?q=captioned+phones+internet&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1

the two biggest are ClearCaptions and CapTel

slightly better results- all within the last year-

Most states you can probably get it for free as long as you have proof from your audiologist.
