NJ Woman Sought in 1997 Kidnap-Arson

Philadelphia Police say they are now looking for a South Jersey woman in connection with an arson and kidnapping more than six years ago.

Law enforcement sources in Philadelphia say a child believed to have died in a 1997 fire in Feltonville (right) is alive -- and was apparently a kidnap victim.

Investigators now believe the fire was set as a ruse by a woman who stayed at the house to cover the kidnapping.

No body was ever found, but for six years authorities apparently believed the body of 10-day-old Delimar Vera had been consumed by the heat and flames.

The child was presumed dead for years -- until early this year, in January, when Vera's mother spotted a six-year-old girl at a birthday party whom she believed was her little girl.

Now, DNA tests have confirmed the girl's identity.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 41-year-old Carolyn Correa (left) of Willingboro, NJ. She is described as Hispanic, 5' 2" tall, about 130 lbs. She was last seen operating a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, burgundy color, with NJ license plate NTL-71H.

If you see this car or the suspect, call 911.

The girl is being reunited with her birth mother, whom she has never known.

Wow, this is interesting. I can see a made-for-television true-story movie coming up! They do that a lot for those unusual kidnappings/mysteries. Heh!
