It turns out that my laptop isn't up to par with the graphics-intensive programs that I have. I'm thinking about buying a whole new setup on newegg.com

The list is as follows:

Intel X58 ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz Quad-Core Processor

EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model TW3X4G1600C9D G - Retail


Now, before I go on a shopping spree, I'm willing to consider suggestions for better deals on any of the products above. The i7 processor is pretty much locked in lol.

It seems so good deal for you.

i7 Core is nice but I have buy new motherboard and DDR3 RAM, ugh.
 
The Nehalem Intel Core i7 is what I have decided for my next computer along with a more powerful GeForce card esp in SLi configuration.


However Im pretty much satsified with my muscle laptop of a Gateway FX (with a 2.26Ghz Penryn Core2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 1 GB GeForce 9800MGTS)
