Moose attacks toddler

GRAND LAKE, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a run-in between a
moose and a toddler in north-central Colorado appears to have been
a freak accident.
The moose ran into the two-and-half-year-old as he played on the
beach of Shadow Mountain Reservoir near Grand Lake with his brother
Thursday. His family said Friday he's been released from the
hospital and is doing well.
The moose kept running after hitting the unidentified boy, and
it wasn't clear at first whether the moose targeted him for some
reason.
Grand County authorities now believe it's likely the moose
didn't see him and was just passing through the area. The animals
have poor eyesight.
The boy's family agrees. They think the moose was likely spooked
by something else and was fleeing when it ran into him.

It's somewhat common knowledge Moose have poor eyesight.

Another interesting fact... the word, moose is both singular and plural.

You mean it's not Meese????

I knew that moose had poor eyesight. I remember Bullwinkle always thought he had a rabbit in his hat....but he didn't.

Their eyes are probably to far apart to focus well

Hey Rocky... LOL

When I read the article, I could TOTALLY see Adam taunting the moose or trying to pet it...:roll: 'eh what can I say he's all boy!

I didnt know that they had poor eyesight. Interesting. Glad the tot is ok!!!

Grand lake, heh. Not far at all. I see moose up there all the times. They're usually on people's properties so not too surprised.

I'm glad the authorities came to the conclusion that the moose didn't see the boy and lives another day.
