Some of you might already know that I was very into Las Vegas at my very first thread in AD, but recently I research about Phoenix. Phoenix seems are very similar to Las Vegas. I wonder which would you pick, Las Vegas or Phoenix, AND why?

Both of Phoenix or Las Vegas decision are very hard to make a decision because they both are too similar, except that Phoenix have more technology and smart, while Las Vegas is like a party city with those casinos.

Everything about both cities are similar except for LV being a party and sin city with all these casinos.

I would choose Phoenix over Las Vegas because I had lived in sin city on and off for 8 years. I also used to live in Tucson for 1.5 years. I was not happy being in sin city for several reasons. Some Deaf LV people are the embarrassment to me. I don't want to do anything with them...they are plain stupid.

Phoenix has tons of offers for Deafies... jobs, technologies, Deaf events, etc.. LV? well, not much except casinos and 24/7 being sinners. I suggest that LV is good for tourists, not permanent residents. However, it is up to you anyway.

I left LV for East Coast for good since 2005 and would not look back ever since. I'd rather to live in East Coast than West Coast. I go to LV for visiting my parents..that's it.

I wouldnt know about the deaf community in LV so I couldnt really compare but after reading your experiences and PePe Lew's experiences with the LV deaf community, it seems not so good?

The Phx Deaf community is growing according to my brother and more educated Deaf people are living there now. My brother is happy cuz about 15 years ago, most Deafies were living off on SSI and smoking weed all day. Now, more of them have jobs and living productive lives. That's what my brother told me. I take his word for it.

Been to LV and Phoenix. Umm, I never really like Phoenix because it is city alike LA and I am allright with LV for vacation but not too crazy to live in Casnio city which it is everywhere in Nevada.

I rather not live in Phoenix because too hot in summer. I rather not live in Las Vegas because gambling, etc are very tempted. Gambling, etc can ruin your budget.

do u mean the order of the Phoenix? Didn't know you could live there, that would be cool.

Thank everyone for posting the opinions. Las Vegas if I want some crazy fun partying, or Phoenix if I want some good jobs, education, etc.

I know Las Vegas/Nevada State have very low Deaf community compare to Phoenix.. They're both hard to decide.

Do u want to move to either cities?

Yeah I want to move either those cities. I really like Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico states, possible Texas too, but mostly preferable Nevada or Arizona. Those are very hard to decide because Phoenix and Las Vegas seems very the "same", and the only different is the people and lifestyle, excluding the weather.

The reason why I want to move those desert states because I am allergy to the 4 season changing, like when spring ends and summer start, I become sick, when summer ends, and fall starts, I become sick, so on. I was just looking for states that don't change the season that much, most same weather all year round. I know both Arizona and Nevada have cold winter, but that goes only for 1-2 months a year, then all the rest of the year are sunny and dry. That would be attracted to me.

I always had allergy problems growing up in Phx due to the desert plants and orange trees that people plant in their front yards. Also, Phx has dust storms during the summer...was always hell for me with my allergies. Then, I moved here...no allergy problems for the first 6 years...now, in the last 2 years, they are really getting bad especially in the Spring time.

For me, now it is no different with my allergies but it could be different for u. There is no molding problems in Phx due to the dry air so that's very good. Here, I get so sick around mold. That was a new one for me.

Let me know and I can see about contacting my brother to introduce u to people there. :)

Wow, seems like I am not the only one who are allergy to specificially season's varies of ways.

Thank you for the offer! :) I doubt I would move that fast because I am stuck with the land in Washington and we are planning to build condos here and it would take a while for me to stay in Washington so... Of course I will let you know when I need to meet new people ;)

It is common for people with seasonal allergies to move to another part of the country and not have allergies for several years. Then develop a new allergy to different plants or other things like mold, etc...Yes, I know how it is to suffer from damn allergies. I have seasonal allergies due to pollen. :(

I used to live in Vancouver, Wa before moving to Tucson, Az in 2001. just less than a year. before Wa, I was in Ga. for a year and half with parent helping out his house to be sold before they retire. before that I was in NY for 10+ yrs. so before I moved back to Az (I left Az in 75) I had coughing issues so now that I am here in Tucson, ahhhh it stopped...

Tucson have 5 seasons just that there are two kind of summer. Dry and Monsoon summer. right now Dry summer is around the corner and will last till July whenever monsoon start wreaking havoc in Tucson. but I LOVE monsoon summer as it is my favorite season.

Hey I suggest you to move to vegas because of there have so many events, and cool to see it...

Myself I was in Vegas twice before, it was cool, but hahaha as for me live there I dont think so... :giggle: :D

I wouldn't suggest either because it's tooo hot there and if I live there I would miss the coniferous trees and the pine fresh air. ;) I'm a treehugger, so you know. Maybe you're not a treehugger, so I think u'll probably do fine there.

I learned from a friend told me that, when A/C was invented...the population in Phoenix and Las Vegas boomed because A/C is great for people to keep cool.

Under 21 in Las Vegas doesn't much to do. I went to Las Vegas for a week. Wanna know what I did while I was in Vegas? Just sit in the hotel room or walk on the Strip. Yeah...It is a world's largest adult entertainment and Sin City.

I've never been to Phoenix....Nothing much for advice. heh...Sorry. But I gave you a tip about Las Vegas if you are under 21.

Uh, I was in Las Vegas over 10 times for visiting my families there, and there's lot of things to do for under 21 there too. Like the roller coaster in New York New York, Stratosphere, etc. Also there's lot of shopping around. Circus Circus have good place for arcades where under 21 can go, also they have a circus events for the audiences. There's also a Wild Wet (now shutted down or relocating I am not sure) where people go for swimming.

There is many things under 21 people can do in Las Vegas beyond the gamblings/casinos.

I know many things about Las Vegas, except the deaf community there. That is a problem and it is what makes me avoid from Las Vegas because of lack deaf communities there.

Now, about Phoenix, I know there's good deaf communities there, but they don't have much fun activities like Las Vegas do.

That's why I am undeciding about which Las Vegas or Phoenix??

That's true for Vegas regarding people under 21. Been to Vegas several times myself.

Anyways, about things to do in Phx...there is Tempe Town Lake, Mill Ave, 3 waterparks, and most of all what deafies there love to do is to go tubingat Salt River or go boating at the surrounding lakes.
