Of course, flashing them doesnt always make it b etter than the last version. You know, sometimes I like to twiddle with them.

I believe newer dvd players can do the rom flashing? I rarely see usb ports on it.

I also flashed roms like Video cards, routers, used have t-mobile mda with cook roms, and motherboards.

ROM stands for Read Only Memory...it means that you cannot modify the data on the ROM chipset, DVD ROM, CD ROM, etc. You basically load the data into it and cannot be modified at a later date.

Yesterday, I just flashed my phone to offical AT&T Android 2.2. So far, working great and feels a little snappier and more responsive.
