Hello!
My name is Josephine and I am the co-founder of a Deaf theatre called Seeing Voices Montreal. We perform plays in American Sign Language and spoken English in order to raise Deaf awareness in our city. The Deaf community is one that is highly overlooked, and we hope to eliminate discrimination towards it through the medium of theatre.
We have been selected to be in the top 2 of a nationwide contest to win 5000$. We are a non-profit organization and the 5000$ would go to buying staging equipment, costumes, props, etc. We also hope to start touring outside of Montreal, and the money would definitely help with setting that up.
