Former Hospital Patient Says Male Nurse Touched Her Breasts
Former Hospital Patient Says Male Nurse Touched Her Breasts - West Palm Beach News Story - WPBF West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A Palm Beach County woman has accused a male nurse of sexually assaulting her at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach.

The complaint was filed at the Palm Beach County Courthouse early Thursday morning.

In the complaint, the woman said the nurse touched her breasts and stomach in a sexual manner while she was a patient.

She said it happened in September while she was being treated for dehydration.

"Not only have I suffered from severe psychological trauma resulting in chronic anxiety and inability to cope with every day events on a daily basis, nightmares, flashbacks," the woman said Thursday at a news conference announcing the lawsuit.

The woman agreed to show her face but doesn't want her name used. WPBF 25 News is not naming the nurse because no criminal charges have been filed.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said it has not been served with the lawsuit and cannot comment right now because it is a legal matter.

Many million male nurse know best not touch women's breast just only female nurse can doit or doctors.

Welllll...I had a very good looking "young" doctor!....He was so kind and understanding during my surgery, even brought me a Soda!...Took time to write everything down to me also....even things that were just trivel....Now, if I were 30 years younger....:giggle:....

Sounds like BS bullhorn style. It *might* be a little more believable if she was living cloistered all alone on a deserted island for her life before hand. :giggle:

People will say anything to make a buck....the lady beside me in the hospital had to wear diapers (stroke)....and male nurses had to change them...she didn't complain at all! She did have OCD, tho'...couldn't get her TV to working and kept repeating..."TV on...TV on...TV on".....

Being deaf, I told her if she needed anything and couldn't get the Nurse...not to Hollar at me...just throw something!...She looked at me sort of like.......

Knocking the victim? She very well may have been touched innapropriately.

Then again.... she could be making it up for a quick buck. Why would someone show their face to be further humiliated?? That is what strikes me as odd. Victims usually want their identity hidden.

:dunno: What to think of this yet.

On second thought, she "might" have a valid complaint...if the male nurse would have "touched" her breast and had meant to do it...who knows?...But I've had people touch mine accidentally, brushing past me, even bumping into me..don't make a big deal out of it, tho'....

If it really happened in a sexual manner...she should have yelled at him and reported it to the RN Nurse on duty.

I feel more comfortable with a female primary care doctor. When you go to a specialist you really don't have a choice, but you should feel comfortable with your primary care physician.

What I am questioning is her claims of severe psychological trauma and inability to function afterwards. Just not buying it. If a male nurse touched her inappropriately, she should have reported it to the charge nurse immediately. This just doesn't add up.

i agree. she might have gotten the bill for the hospital and is trying to get out of it..

just another reason why i like working in the "behind-the-scenes" areas of the hospital

Exactly! That response doesn't seem to fit the event being described.

I was told by a lawyer if something happen to me that I found to violent my rights in any way , I should leave a paper trail , I should send emails and letters to friends and famliy telling then know I am upset or traumatize I am. Plus talk to my doctor about it, this way you will have prove that you where really psychological trauma and inability to function afterwards. If you do decides to press charges you have evident that you talked to people about it.

I'm thinking she might have secretly liked the experience then when she started to tell someone in confidence, they erupted in "well, that's just not right!!! They cannot do that to you and get away with it!!! ".

And it just snowballed downhill from there. She is probably going to need years of therapy no matter what happens here.

I had a good friend in college that had an experience and told me about it. I didn't really react to the news so she didn't seem too upset about it. She told another friend the same thing and that person got all upset and claimed she was raped and such. After that she was all traumatized about the experience. Sure it was not a pleasant memory, but she was not too upset about it and just mentioned it in passing... Not any more. Now it's a horrible traumatic experience. Sigh,I just don't understand some people.

Wow, I see alot of "attacking the victim" here. Very sad.

Sorry, but there just isn't enough information to take this seriously. I'm not saying its not serious... Every claim should be investigated. But based on what is available to us, it just doesn't look good for her. Now, if you feel so inclined to provide more information??? :D please???

True it's just a accusation right now...it could be a lie. But what she is claiming is rape. Seems people could have more compassion for this rape victim at least until it is proven she is not a victim

Just looking at this comment...

Not all rapes are reported right away. Sometimes they are not reported at all. If true, I am sure she was in shock when this happened. She may be a total fraud.....but I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt until things prove otherwise.

She probably needed years of therapy before this incident.:P
