The Greenbelt Project": a student short about a deaf young girl and boy who are the first to undergo a horrific procedure that makes them hearing. Adam Hattler, a hearing boy whose mother Dr. Hattler who founded the procedure that make deaf people hearing has an ulterior motive. Adam who was born deaf finds out that his own mother uses the procedure on him and later discovers the truth behind when a young deaf girl named Eve who will be the first female to have the procedure.
Roles:
- Eve Drake ( Female; A rebellious deaf teen who doesn't want to become hearing (must know American Sign Langauge!)
-Adam Hattler (Male; Eve's love interest, rebellious teen who hates his mother.)
-Dr. Hattler (Female; A doctor with a nazi complex who hates deaf people, Adam's mother.)
-Mrs. Drake (Female; Eve's mother)
-Mr. Drake (Male; Eve's father)
-Jake Crow (Male; Anchor Reporter)
-Rebecca Braun (Female; Anchor Reporter)
Supporting Roles/Extras:
1. Husband: (Flashback sequence; non-speaking role)
2. Doctor (Flashback Sequence; non-speaking)
3. Nurses (2 female) (Flashback Sequence; non-speaking)
4. Media Reporters (non-speaking)
5. The Administration (3 men) (speaking)
6. Orderlies (2 men) (non-speaking)
7. Men/Women (6) (Supporters/Opposers; two must know American Sign Language; man and woman)(speaking)
8. Supporters/Protesters (non speaking)
9. Important business people (non speaking)
10. Deaf Advocate (man, must know American Sign Language)
There is No Pay. Players will recieve Copy, Credit and Meals.
Shoot/Performance Dates: June 14, June 15, June 16 2004
Shoot Times: 10am - 11pm
This is a day and night shoot; you must be available all days/nights according to scheduling.
Auditions will be held at Columbia College Hollywood 18618 Oxnard Street Tarzana, CA 91343
Auditions Dates: May 24 and May 25.
Auditions Times: 1pm - 9pm.
Auditions notes: Looking for those who can convey emotion through body language and acting ability. Some roles required that you know American Sign Language.
If submitting by email, you must audition and please specifiy what dates you will attend.
