Remember the triology of "The Godfather" movies?

Well.... Guess what? EA is bringing the Godfather to the PS2, xbox and PSP probably this year! It's an offer you can't refuse! (a classic Don Corleone quote ;) )

I found some screenshots off the game and man, even Marlon Brando looks so freaking close in the game! Reports were that Brando recorded some of his Don Corleone lines for EA before he died last July. Also signed on are Robert Duvall (as the consigliere Tom Hagen in the movie) and James Caan (as Sonny Corleone) allowing EA to license their 1972 likeness to be integrated in the game. But sad is I dont expect Al Pacino (as Michael Corleone) to be in the game :(

Go over and read the news.... http://xbox.ign.com/articles/584/584784p1.html

Look at how close this is to the real Marlon Brando circa 1972!

Oh my gosh, he looks like REAL !!

Oh yeah, I surely remember that horrible movie "Godfather". In 1970's audience were not acceptable with all the bloody and voience !

My Gosh, That looks perfect, just like him. I love GodFather, saw all the movies. ;)

Im a diehard fan of Godfathers triology. I wish they would make more quality films like they did in 1970's.

They did a great job making a such striking resemblence of Marlon Brando!

Damn... he looks real! I better mention this to my dad. He's a fan of the Godfather series! ;)

I definitely will buy this game to show my loyal for Godfather series. The movie series rock my old sock in my closet.

Edit: For my PS2 console, of course.

The movies are brilliant, brilliant! I got a magazine recently, Electronic Gaming Monthly....

Great coverage on the Godfather game. A lot of looks, niceeeee! Though the graphics shown are in fact for Xbox 2.

Wow, looks so real!!

I have all the Godfather videos set!, ;) love that movie!

Now that brings memories of the movies, eh?

Reports is that the gameplay would be a la the Grand Theft Auto series: namely the open-ended gameplay set in 1945 to 1955 New York City. The era of the setting reflects the apex of the power that "La Cosa Nostra" had before the real Mafia got busted wide open in the Apalachia scandal of 1957.

Also another crime movie classic, from the 1980's, is making to the consoles at the same time the Godfather comes out: "Scarface" the classic 1983 Al Pacino crime film. Look it there http://www.scarfacegame.com

Now it looks to be a great time to be a member of either the Mafia or the Montana crime cartel virtually this year!

I just got the EMG last week and checked out the snapshots to the Godfather series, which will come to Xbox and Playstation 2...and also Xbox 2!

yeah I've seen some snapshots of a godfather game coming to Xbox 2 and it looks VVVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRYYYY good! so much MORE realistic and very creative than EVER.

can't wait to get Xbox 2 this year. :D

believe me, Sable, the pictures from Xbox 2 are MUCH better than the pictures that you are showing for Playstation 2 and Xbox.

steel.....Banjo mentioned that the shots does look like it came straight from the xbox Next. (I prefer to call it the xbox Next to xbox 2) Looking closely at the shots, I have to agree its a xbox Next shot. The original xbox could not possibly have rendered this accurate portrait of Brando on his desk that well yet. Look at the skin toning and shading of Brando's right hand.

Just imagine the gameplay graphics on the xbox Next....I'd really need a fresh pair of pants once I see a pic of the gameplay for the Godfather game!

I'm willing to bet that the Godfather game will be a launch title when the xbox Next launches this year. (Just like Halo and Project Gotham were the first launch games with the xbox.)

I must admit you that I never watch Godfathers 1, 2, 3 movies in my life.. I look at this picture look heck reality game's feature.. It looks neat for game.. smile

NICE PICTURE! That the Godfather looks so REAL!

bumping this one up as the game is coming out today the 21st March! I preordered my own copy of the game.

For one thing I'm amazed that most of the actors in the movie are in the game but sad is that Al Pacino's face wont be in the game as Michael Corleone. (Funny thing is Al is lending his face for the new "Scarface" game coming this fall but not the Godfather!)

I've spent the months leading up to the game watching the first 2 Godfather movies, reading the original book and the sequel "The Godfather Returns"

the godfather game's ok, it's not great, but it's pretty entertaining.
after playing 10 hours ingame u'll get bored, u'll realize everything's all repeatly, same old boring craps repeatly, u might see what i mean when u play it.

I wonder what the Sons of Italy organization has to say about the video game. It is an organization where Italians and Sicilians get together to fight stereotyping of Italian Americans or Sicilian Americans. They have many good programs also for travel and study aboard Italy & Sicily.

I agree, they did a fantastic job rendering the other actors and it just looks silly not to have Al Pacino as Michael.

I've only played a little of the game so far but I'm really enjoying it, more as a fan of the movies than as a gamer. (To me "The Godfather" is the best movie ever made.) I think they did a great job of letting you participate in the story, like you get to be one of the guys who gets revenge on the boys who beat up and tried to rape the undertaker's daughter, from the movie. Or how you get to eavesdrop on other important scenes from the movie.
