I guess it is because the people who is hosting this are in NYC/NJ area. Gotta make easier for them to plan.
Plus last time was an success and I was there to witness it.

Why not other city somewhere rather than NYC/NJ area again?
we can. got a suggestion?

I'm sure we can go to other cities because it's not far from us such as Philly, DC, and Boston but since Alex and I are from NYC/NJ, we have the resource & means to make sure that ya'all will have the best time in here. :)

plus - majority of ADers lives in Northeastern area. if far - it's very easy to get here with any kinds of transportation. and I will be able to assist you with anything in here - transportation, hotel, arrangement, accommodation, information, etc.

but again... we're open to any ideas.

Any 30-50 year olds going to this event? If it is mostly young'uns, I will have to pass.

Hard, because mostly of the spread of members when we start moving central and west.

Elements that I think make up for a successful meet:
  • Someone familiar with the surrounding area
  • Someone with a house or place is a plus for those intending to spend an extra day or two (or hotels)
  • Someone who can pick up those from a nearby (major) airport that other cities would fly to
  • Bus routes would have to be able to stop nearby for those planning to save money this way (megabus)
  • Most members would be able to access the area, quantity vs quality of members at this point.

I think this sums up most of a general requirement. When you start looking at the mid-usa and some of the west, you can see that they are lacking in some departments or another.

The median age of all posters who posted so far in here here is like 30-35. At least like 50% are over 30 years old, another ~35% are just approaching 30. Stick around longer to get an idea of what ages AD is made up of. :thumb:

Oooooooooooooooooo................NYC! NYC! NYC!!!!! I have a place to stay and would love to meet everyone!

hence... Chicago plan going kaput.

that would really be something totally awesome to attend, i live in virginia, i would love to know the details because i would love to come. if i was allowed. lol.

I prefer to go to NYC, which is much easier for me. Either I can take Amtrak or stay at my brother's in LI, NY. :)

Lol!

to meet up some hot chicks?... lol

oh boy oh boy . . . how did i miss that post . . . LOL you naughty naughty boy you. HAHAHAHA. You are funny, but it could be true, it might be a good place to find a new girlfriend/boyfriend . . . . :) Maybe I should go to it. Never thought about it that way.

:giggle:

Would it be feasible to take up a poll as to where the majority of ADers are located in the US? Us Aussies would have to vote for NJ/NYC because that would be to closest to JFK International Airport.

If AD Meet is in late 2011 then I could go but wait and see.

i still think the atlantic city casino's would be great. especially in the summer when you can get out on the boardwalk. there are almost always casino buses from as far away as philly and maybe nyc that are free or cheap with food and money thrown in. easier getting rooms since most of the casino's are not dong as well .
could also send alex and jiro to the casino's now and have them gamble at least once a week to get some rooms comped. after all they will be the hosts

Sometime when the Yankees are in town maybe??? Wouldn't mind seeing the new stadium

I like that idea...

Had I been paying more attention to the Chicago thing I probably would've gone.

As for dates...July-September..not a fan of super cold weather and might be in law school by then.

Location...I have no idea, but almost anywhere is good for me.

Take a poll on location and dates?

September is a great month to hit NYC weather-wise.

JFK is the furthest airport. LaGuardia is the closest and easiest. Newark is also easier. just one train to NYC.

but either way - I can pick up any of you or provide assistance.

Thanks Jiro - I will be coming to the U.S. next year, just don't know when yet.
