Glad I am not rich. Crazy wealthy woman.

How did the Shih Tzu jump out of a vehicle and run onto the driveway without injury. Shih Tzu , (of which I own one) have very short achondroplasic dwarf legs and aren't really good at running away out of a moving vehicle.

That's weird on both sides.

Years ago we had one. She could not navigate steps or deep snow very well. So I don't know about this story. Maybe she had to go so bad, she jumped out the window. Our Shih Tzu was as smart as a brick.

That's so cruel, but often accurate of the breed!

Uh, if I saw someone I thought was a burglar I would not risk my life by getting in my car, which must have been near his car, and blocked his.

 Maybe. I think there is something fishy on both sides of this story. It kind of sounds like a neighborhood feud to me.

The reason many Shih Tzu have such short legs today, begins in 1947.

Until then they weren't even considered separate from the Lhasa Apso, (which was my first dog I picked as an adult.)

But Pekingese was introduced to make the Shih Tzu smaller and cuter, and the got a separate class from Lhasas, and also the dwarf legs.

I read that some are being bred to have shorter legs and the poor dogs have a hard time walking. Some people are so stupid about how they want dogs to looks that is causing dogs to have more health issues .

I remember our Shih Tzu (named Ping Li) seemed to have shorter legs in the front. She was born in Taiwan in the 1970's.

That is the result of the Achondroplasia. The front legs are shorter and more bowed than the back.

Both my present day Peke and my Shih Tzu exhibit this.
