On the November 24 episode of Raw, WWE announced that the fifth edition of the Slammy Awards would take place on a special

three hour edition of Raw on December 8 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The following matches will occur at the event:

* Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy
* World Heavyweight Champion John Cena vs. WWE Champion Edge
* Triple H vs. Batista

WWE.com announced some of the nominees for the awards on December 2
