Are Heads Rolling in Green Bay??
I wonder how our esteemed Green Bay Packers fans feel today now that quarterback Brett Favre has agreed to a trade with the New York Jets. Just imagine, if you will, him winning a superbowl or two and then being inducted into the Pro-Football Hall of Game in a JETS uniform. Ouch.
J-E-T-S ---- JETS JETS JETS.

Brett wanted to play one more year with GB and he said, hell with GB they would pay him 20 million to stay retired. He's playing with the Jets just found out lastnight from a text msg from my friend.

Favre should stayed retired in first place. He is the one who put the Packers in a very difficult spot which becomes domino effect.
Aaron Rodgers is more than ready to start for the Packers on a full-time basis. |

I have to agree with Royale on this.. what if this happens with other teams and star players.. I bet the next one would occur with New England and Tom Brady?? What if he wanna play somewhere and he would be traded to SF?? NE would have to do the stunt GB pulled on the New York Jets to try to discouage SF from trading Brady back to the same division as NE and etc... that would be really disasterous for sure... I just have to question why the **** GB would do this to screw the 3 other teams in the same division, Chicago and Detroit and Minnesota?? OY... Like I say before somewhere, I have lost respect for Brett "faggot" Favre and the faggot Green Bay Packers now over this.. blah!

I've been following football since I was 10 yrs old, and I must admit I was SHOCKED to learn that he was gonna be traded. But, think about this... WHO in their RIGHT mind would turn down $20m JUST to sit on their ass?! Especially, to only learn that your team DOESN'T want you? You'd think the $20m offer would have been the hint But, it's a reality. Brett is gonna be in a Jets uniform! Weird. Bet he wishes he'd taken the $20m!

I don't think Jets will be a good team this year. They don't have decent running backs, wide receivers, and defense. Favre is going to make himself look foolish by returning from the retirement.

Jets will be better. Not Super Bowl bound however. Hes a major upgrade over that weak armed piece of crap Pennington though.
I think both teams wont make the playoffs actually.

I think it comes down to ego. Brett wanted the publicity. He sure as hell doesn't need the money!

Yeah we will see how Brett Favre do with the Jets... should be interesting to watch...
Dead Money.. do ya have facts to prove that Barry Sanders did indeed ask for money and quit playing for the Lions on top of his game? I have often wondered why he did leave the Lions...... Tousi..true most athletes in the sports do retire not well.... some due to injury that is too much to continue the careers..some due to other things... when ya feel ya are ready to leave the game with good positive feelings ya have done everything ya wanted to do and have done and more... then it a good way to go out on good style and timing.. but if injuries and concussions are factors in that, then the careers would be shortened somehow for some major stars.... |

QUOTE] I dont have time to go fact-digging right now but thats what i remember about it. Wayne Fontes was asking for a contract extention as well (the head coach) and Sanders didnt want to play for anyone else. But he *would* if the Lions gave him the deal he wanted. He then threatened to sit out the season and retire, the lions called his bluff and sure enough he retired lol

It s good for both sides. Jets get QB that doesn't have noodle arm and Packers get draft pick which IMO will net them first round draft pick since Favre by himself can get Jets to playoff.
But would Favre bring superbowl to Jets? Nah.

That rumor of Tom Brady to SF really is something... but seriously, would New England be willing to let him go? that will be really a mess if it actually did happen like it did with Brett Favre and Green Bay..I hope not...

I know that, Ocean.. ya have nothing to worry about but it might be a long time till Tom decides to leave on his own accord, either to retire a Patriot or to play for another team for a bit then retire finally...
I agree with ya on that, Royale.. it would be maybe 10 more years or so till that issue come up... No I was making a theory on this as we have seen the horsecrap flying all over with Brett Favre and Green Bay and etc and I had suggested the idea of suppose what would happen if stars like Tom Brady decide to leave NE and force a trade or so.. it would be unimaginable for this... its not a rumor but a theory idea... |
