Another example california is a socialist state
California Lawmakers want to end college football championship games.
End the bowl games? give me a break. Times change!! The rose bowl stands like it is. |

I do not see why can't 4th and 5th ranked teams to play against each other. Texas vs Calif Bear instead of Texas vs Michigan. BCS need to be rewritten. |

Well is the NCAA rules. If california doesnt like it TOUGH ! Rose bowl is part of the BCS just like in baseball the national & american leagues have to play each other now. Rose bowl was reserved for pac 10 champions same as baseball american league and national league teams should not play each other until the world series. Of course state of california can take all their big college teams and put them along in the divsion I AA schools that way you can keep the rose bowl for california champions. Like call this conferance California 10 Conferance. Teams they play USC,UCLA,Stanford,California,San Diego State,San Jose State,Fresno State,California-Davis,Cal Poly and Sacramento State. That way you wont have to worry about the BCS telling california what to do with their rose bowl and theyre no ADs in the divsion I AA . If it was that way now it would be USC vs Furman. Oh BTW,,,ESPN would be televising this not ABC. :)

What I do not understand is how you claim that California is a socialist state. I dont see any POINT there. |
Look at it! Californian politics is all runed by electoral beaucrats. I dont think any of californias votes were counted honesty and correctly. I think they all plan who will be governor ,Who will be in the senate and who will run the local political machine. Like arnold swartzenagger as governor? A right wing republican which californians all claim theyre left winged liberal. And they voted for US senators who are anti death penalty and then turn around sentence scott peterson to death? That sounds like something goes on in russia and cuba. And not to mentioned thats how saddam huesian ran iraq too.I got a better idea. Lets sell california back to mexico and sell hawaii to japan. Then everybody would be happy and america would be just as it was before 1960.

Ravensteve1961, a simple explanation or answer is all is needed instead of wavering about with other 'answers' that seems to be off-topic...Meg simply just asked for your own opinion of why you consider CA a socialist state...let's be fair and courteous towards one another here before this thread turns into a flame-war which then will get closed and locked up. Let's be considerate for our fellow man in the states of CA and Hawaii as well for every human being across our vast and mighty country, also for those who live in other countries....we can speak our own opinions and thoughts without having to belittle anyone for that matter...this doesn't apply only to you Ravensteve1961, but for every member here in AD...common sense and courtesy does go a long way whereas it best serves the interest and dialogue between members of Alldeaf.
Let's be cool here-- |
Thanks, Roadrunner, for keeping a cool head.
My reply would have gotten me banned. |

Then explan to me if majority of californians voted for barbra boxer and Diane Feinstien and they both stand on anti death penalty and pro abortion issues then how hell they gave scott peterson death penalty when theyre dont belive in the death penalty? Thats sounds like a bunch of hippos to me. Oh yeah,, If theyre for liberalism how come a conservtive like arnold swartzanagger got in scramento instead back to beverly hills where he belongs?

Steve, your "because it is" would be good enough in Sweden; should be right up your philosophical alley. Need help packing? LOL!

You have no right to tell us that US is better off without CA. I am a proud Californian native and do not appreciate you spewing out facts without backing these up. You need to start thinking twice before you spew out because most people will always ask you to clarify. We cannot just accept your far fetched ideas like that. You apparently do not know what socialism means. Canada is one example of Socialist systems and you did not bother to explain to me why you felt California is a socialist state. |

The jury voted for death penalty for Peterson, not Barbara Boxer or Diane Feinstein. But it is up to the state to have it done or not. There are over 200 people on Death Row at this moment so it is up to California courts. Most likely Peterson will rot away on Death Row. You need to look at figures in California before assuming anything. You will be surprised at how conservative Orange County is, for an example. Not every county in California is liberal Democrat. So please double check all facts before you leap to conclusions and attack. |
Then why are so many representives in california are liberal democrats? And theyre not speaking out against the death sentence on scott peterson. Besides he innocent. Its that judge who pulled off 2 jurors that was gonna make it a hung jury so it can get this case over quick before the hollidays. I think grecos should appeal this case and ask for a new trial and lets see if he can move it to orange county so he can get a fair trial.

Because the trial is a disgrace. Ita all for political reasons. Theres is NO PROOF scott peterson murder laci. Theres no DNA proof. Theres no EYEWITNESS. All is hearsay. I think when someone or something breaks out found out someone else killed laci guess what scott peterson is gonna do. SUE the state of california. SUE the city of modesto,. SUE the modesto Police dept,, SUE the police officer who arrseted him falsely,, SUE the laci parents and finaly he is gonna SUE amber frey. He will be a very very very rich man!

I refuse to respond to any more of your postings. I am fed up with listening to your ravings. You are too angry/bitter to think logically. |

Agreed Harley but why Meg keeps asking me why i think california is a socialist state. So she bought of off topic, The title does say "california is a socialist state " It was a figure of speech because they dont have a right to tell the NCAA what to do. So i suggested all california college teams to move to divison 1-AA so the NCAA cant make the rose bowl part of the BCS. So california can still have their rose bowl tradition. That all they had to do.

You need to look up the definition of socialism. This has nothing to do with socialism. You tend to be careless with words you use here. You claim it was just figure of speech but words are very powerful. Do not underestimate power of words because your words have angered me. |
Ravensteve...read the article again...
I will c/p here. California lawmaker seeks end of Bowl Championship Series December 13, 2004 SACRAMENTO (AP) -- The Republican leader of the California Senate has introduced a resolution calling for the dissolution of the Bowl Championship Series. Sen. Dick Ackerman, an unhappy alumnus of California, is only half-kidding with the measure, which even if approved could not force the breakup of the BCS. Ackerman, a 1964 Cal graduate, is furious that his school lost a chance to play in one of college football's big-money games despite ranking among the top five in the polls most of the year. ``The BCS has proven in its seven-year existence that it is a failure,'' Ackerman said. ``It has failed at the expense of California and other Pac-10 teams that have lost millions of dollars in revenue.'' There's no word yet whether the Texas legislature will seek a resolution endorsing the BCS. Texas slipped past Cal in the BCS standings in the final week and received an invitation to play in the Rose Bowl, even though the Longhorns were previously ranked behind Cal. Ackerman blamed Cal's loss on last-minute lobbying efforts by Texas officials. ``Politicking and campaigning have no place in college athletics,'' he said. ``Teams should be judged on their performances on the field and not by the success of their PR campaigns.'' Now I will put a sentence in BOLD here...: Sen. Dick Ackerman, an unhappy alumnus of California, is only half-kidding with the measure, which even if approved could not force the breakup of the BCS. Now read again...: "...only half-kidding with the measure..." Now read again...: "...even if approved could not force the breakup of the BCS." Get it? Nothing to worry about. Just more ravings from someone that didnt do enough research. |
