any deaf scuba divers there?

I was wondering if there's certificated deaf scuba divers around. I only know few deaf divers, and I am cerrificated open water diver. It requires to dive with a buddy, most people can't afford one or anything.

Fly free- It is accually fun and new experience going scubadiving :smile: however, many deafies told me they have problem because they don't provide interpreter druing classes. I was lucky because my interpreter offer a bribe to the indructor to give the interpreter a free classes and the teacher gets free interpreter service.
i know there's a class in gally.

Just curious to know about the requirement about the scuba. Any health problem that affect that person should not go ahead to have scuba? Like Dizzness? Something like that?
I can imagine that we chat with sign language look soo beautiful under the water. :)

Maybe serve Sizzure isn't a good factor to go scuba diving, If you have Cochlear Implant consider asking ur doctor what's ur deepth limit, since the deeper you go the more pressure your body takes, same as going skydiving.
really if you have health problem don't be scared to ask your doctor:D
 
I dived as deep as 200 meters....and I have a cochlear implant. It didn't bother me. :D
 
i had a scuba diving license when i lived in florida, but it now expires after 10 yrs. i havent used it since then. oh well....

honestly i dont miss anything when i did diving down there, except crystal river was the most fun to dive i think because it had a cave i went into it with my partner and did see several manatees. those manatees were AWESOME and beautiful.

when i go to miami to see my friends, i usually stop at key largo for snorkeling.

yes it was really fun to sign with my partner and others. those hearing divers were jealous at us 'cuz they had to bring their pen and small board to write down on it. phhbtt...

I've always want to learn how to do scuba diving! I find it fantastic! Post any specific details about anything like that... like costs, time, where, etc. :D

You can try go visit this website www.padi.com i am not sure if they will tell you, I took classes through high school teacher right after i graduate. :)
 
i'm wondering if any of you guys know a deaf events to go scuba diving like in cozumel, MX or something like that? any clues?

Also deaf cruise any ideas when? i am sure there's a time to go scuba diving druing deaf cruise, cuz they provide diving equiment in cruise.

i scuba dive and im deaf :) its always a load of fun!! hope to go to cancun one of these days.. and there wont be any gettin out of the water for me! lol ;)

cool! when did ya start diving? i was hoping someday there's a events to meet and go scuba.. i always wanna go to cancun. do u go scuba in lake michigan?

i started 2 years ago through school. if we had good grades and applied for the prorgram and got accepted we could get our licince. also if we contiuned the good work we were slelected to go on a scuba trip to california. i got to go and had a blast. never went to lake mich. only sucba dived here in indy and calif. a deaf scuba thing would be awsome! if you set one up.. hook me up! lol :)
