Summer School of Fish

This is a site I designed and created for a client who owns a school. I hope you like it.

Hiya Aqua Blue,

The design is very nice. Good job. What specific keywords is this website found for?

You mean the meta tags?

Kinda yea. If I wanted to find a theme like your client and land upon that site, what keywords would I type into the engine? I already saw your metas.

In the case of this site, the client wanted to hire a local host provider (a friend of his basically) who includes a pretty packed site full of sport fishing business (links) throughout south Florida. That host site is ranked high in Google search engine (and other engines) for everyone to find. I forgot the URL for that host so I can't give it to you. But you can type in Lisa L- that's the name of the boat. Take note that the linked site here is not my design. It's ugly IMO. The captain of that charter is also the director/owner of the school.

The captain now wants for me to produce a Flash-only update for his website. We are in the pre-production stage. It is likely that it will be live on the net by the end of the year.

The client is a super busy man who does not have the time to work with me on the project. I will likely have all the design freedom for this one but he would have to, not only give his input on the design itself, but type up all the copy. Once the copy is done, them the rest in easy sailing for me. I have created many Flash-only sites through the years. The problem is that all of them have been updated to static HTML sites. What a downer.

Very interesting! I saw that page has a Google page rank of 2. But couldn't find for SE rankings. . .

Flash is so cool, however, I bet that they became static, for SEO

Flash is pretty though! Would love to see it when it's complete! I have a client that teaches Flash, Adobe Photoshop, JSP, OOAD, C++, all that good stuff, lol. I had to make him take Flash off of his homepage.

Do you mostly design sites? Animation and what else? If you don't mind, I'm merely curious. It's amazing to me how people do the background scenes behind a website!

I do love HTML and a few others, but Flash and animation, graphics, things like that are beyond me.

Flash sites are the same as HTML sites to spider. Remember that in Flash you only can export of swf file and then insert that file into a table on an static HTML page (index page). You then just upload both the HTML document and the swf file to the server and your done. All the META tags are listed on the HTML document so it works the same way.

I mostly design websites yes. I also do graphic digital art (logos and such), audio/video editing, multimedia presentations and some other minor things. Of course I can't do all those things now because of my bipolar, but sometimes I do freelance work if I am lucky.

Flash is not really hard to master. One does need a little time to learn it but it's not too hard. You have many support sites online and a tutorial on the main site. There are some great books out there for the novice and experienced designer. If I can do it, you can do it...trust me.

My client is still too busy and we haven't been able to get down to work. If he delays until the fall, I will have to cancel the project. You see there is a good chance that I might be able to return to college this year (in the fall) and so time will not be my friend. That is, if I go in as a full-time student which is real likely.

Hi again and I appreciate your post. Thanks for all the info about Flash and how it can be indexed. I enjoy knowing both sides. I was taught that Flash is hard to spider. So ha! Now I know differently.

So you can do Logos and Video editing as well? Wonder do you have any portfolio? My company is always looking for another graphic designer or two. I already employ two, but they are currently swamped with all of my projects.

Would love to see samples of your work somewhere!

And CONGRATS on back to school! Yes with Bipolar it can be very very hard and it looks like you are doing it!

Brave though to be full-time student? Whoa. I commend you and hope that you do indeed get in.

Wishing you best of luck, Aqua!

Do you have other sites you have built as well for other clients?

Would love to see if so.

Look forward!

TJ

Impressive, but should make a better introduction, that's all.

Beside that, I like it.

I agree...but...the important thing is...the client is happy. The intro is just how he wanted it. Go figure. I would of gone in a whole new direction. But hey, you know, that's not my call...I am designing for someone else.
