Very interestin' !! It's a good idea to let others ( ADers ) what they had to say since I know most of them are members of MySpace.

By the way, thanks for bringin' this to my attention !

Ignore him... it is old news...

He can't force you to listen to him and make you close your account on Myspace.

The responsibility is yours to make sure your computer is protected with anti-virus software and anti-trojan software. Make sure your firewall is set up properly and install anti-phising software (look at my signature).

Use FireFox 2.0 for better security. (see my signature below)

surprised that he didn't tell you this but wants you to close your myspace account instead! sheesh!

Interesting, I'm not even a member of myspace.com but I do agree with Boult here, it's all up to you if you want to remove your account or not....I don't even know who this person is on the video...beside some web sites we may visit does have virus/spywares, never know which sites, so it's important to be sure your computer is protected from virus/firewall software programs...

Good luck on that ....

Yep, very old news. He's just trying to scare people into closing their myspace accounts. I am not going to close my account just cause he says so. Fuck that, besides, I know what I am doing and how to deal with viruses and spyware, and I use Firefox myself. Worse scenero, I can just reformat my pc.

Hmmm... as with the *internet* itself, it's up to each of us to be informed and protect ourselves against this kind of stuff. I've been around the 'net for a good ten years now.. a lot of this type of stuff is basic common sense (don't download blindly) and can be further enhanced by simple browser settings... i have almost all active-x controls set to prompt, and unless a site really insists on using it, i generally click no when asked to run an active-x control. I also have many i.e. options set as disabled.

<shrug> as always, caveat emptor.

Just be careful who you visit on it and switch to firefox. I used to only use IE or netscape to get on Myspace.com, but now, I only use firefox. My computer has stopped freezing up on me now too.

For the 'not-so-fluent' people, What's he saying? ( In General )

But if you have a myspace, it's your own responsibility. Why would anyone want to close a website, just because someone else says something about it?

In the end of the video clip, he has asked you all to listen to him, but he also mentioned that don't listen to the people who said that MySpace is just fine, blah blah these things, YOU listen to these, NOT Morgan!

Yea, I'm sure that Vista will better one with more security and firewall but I got no benefit with Vista since my video and sound card are old, around 64MB for video card.

Yeah, his computer is probably a piece of shit that just died on him and he's just mad and wanted to use Myspace.com as a scapegoat.

Apparently there is a worm being spread through MySpace using a flaw inside Quicktime... but from what I know, this can be only done through IE. It has been temporally patched for now by Apple.

I'm not a fan of MySpace because of the excessive use of videos, sounds, music, graphics, and flash... NOT because of virus and spyware problems.

People may say that it's nice to be able to make your profile fancy, but that's OVERKILL. It annoys the hell out of me when people overdo their profiles with crap that's not really needed.

A good website separates the heavy and light stuff. How would you like it if someone came to your door and started shoving everything heavy in your arms without you expecting it? Or... would you rather have someone come to your door and say, "Hello, I have this and that. Would you be interested in seeing them?" A good website will start simple and let you decide whether to click on a simple link that leads to something heavy. That's why I like some other blogs because I am in control of what I see or there are limits on what's being shown.

I was invited to MySpace by a friend. I decided to join at my friends' request. After I added a few friends, I came to realize that many of them made their profiles HEAVY. I actually clicked on one friend's profile and then left the laptop to get a drink from the kitchen. Suddenly, loud music could be heard and it was 2 am at my parent's house. WTF!? Apparently, there was so much shit on my friend's profile that the music video didn't load until last. There was a music file, a few flash files, 10 pages worth of animated images, and the music video was last. Boy, could it get any worse? You bet!

If you really wanted me to look at your profile, you would make it interesting and welcoming... not scary and scare me off.

That's very true! I get very annoyed when I click to look at a friend's profile, and she or he has tons of music videos, other videoes, tons of pics and graphics, it ends up freezing up my computer, and I have to force-quit Firefox!

Not to mention that it's the antithesis of good web design. I'm not above using media stuff but I prefer to keep it to one load instead of tons of loads - especially if I'm dealing with an international audience who may not have the same link I have. I like to keep my web pages simple for everyone's enjoyment.

I got my account deleted in few month ago due tons of friend request with all strangers, also got too many messages on my e-mail and asked me to download IM then fucked my computer up and I had to recovery and not feel want join Myspace again.

Robert's computer must be screw up and show his video to admin of Myspace then what he would to do? I bet that Robert is anti-Myspace and ask deaf people to not join here then that real BS.

my wife tried the Myspace massager, but she didn't like it. AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Camfrog are good enough
