Prefered communication method?

What communication method do you use? In what order?

By ASL/*SL I mean whatever branch of proper sign language your country happens to be using. Such as BSL, Australian sign language etc etc...

Alphabet based communication systems: Involve anything like fingerspelling or Deafblind manual, Braille communication devices etc etc.

I voted for written english as my prefered medium of communication which in my case includes braille. Also Alphabet based system. In my case the deafblind manual although I also use block captital letters on hand. I can speak but not lipread.

It's a little difficult to decide between ASL and typed English on Live Messenger with custom emoticons

I think I've changed my mind. I just prefer signing above all else. And I know you'd all steamroll me over for this, but I don't care if it's ASL, PSE, or SEE. I just don't wanna read another lip as long as I live. I understand them all just as well, and maybe I'll even just pick up on signing ASL by being around it more, but I might take a class. Or a course. Whatever, until I get to the point where people won't criticise my SEE origins.

Speech and read lips? Forget it! It is not worth the hassle and risk of misunderstand!

I quit TTY because too many misunderstanding from Deaf friends. Nothing wrong with my English. Same applies to hearing people they sometimes can't understand my English even though I did it right.

So, Im sticking to ASL/SL all the way including at my work where all of my assoicates and EVEN my boss are Deaf and do signs. I feel like in heaven there.

Unless you record it and hear it for yourself with HA, and you'll hate the voice of yours

I always hated hearing my voice recorded even before I lost my hearing!

I voted: ASL/*SL, written English, speech and lipreading

I use British Sign language with speak (lip movement and lipreading) on the same time when I am in England as the same as I use German Sign language with speak (lip movement and lipreading) when I am here in Germany.

I understand ASL quite good but not 100%. It's good if I follow their ASL with speak (lip movement and lipreading). Without their lip movement, I would never follow their ASL. It does the same with BSL and GSL as well.

I use German language all the time everyday when I chat with my German co-workers, friends and family. I chat with American co-workers time to time because they go and come for years. I have the problem to confuse English language with German languages sometimes. Anyway, I don't care either I am good English writer or not but I have a good intelligence.
