Do u ever sign in secret code with anyone?
Do u ever sign in secret code with anyone?.
I do sign in secret code with my friend. (That was a long time ago). For example, Only between me and my friend have secret code. We use code like, "Madonna" and "Cake" "Madonna" code is for party. "Cake" code is for make love. People won't know what secret code is. Same idea for Hearie who talks in secret code. People do that with secret code. |

Oh yeah I did, and I am sure some people do use serect sign code for personal reason that some don t want other people don't want other people to know what they are doing or talking about. Smile.

I did the same thing too when I was a kid, signing under one other's sweater. Also, If we wanted to, we would put each other's arm over the shoulder and join in at the hip and proceed to sign by using our body as a shield. |

Yea I use secret code sign with my friends while other people don't know what we were talking about.
For example, my friends and I always discuss before we go out to the club or bar for drinks and dance. We discuss to make up the secret code to let each other know if we need help to get away from that jerk or if we are ready to go home. |

The only one I ever use is to sign "dog" to my granddaughter if she starts running away in a store. At 18 months old she thinks this is the funniest joke in the world as she knows she is not a dog. So she runs right back to me, laughing. And I guess it is not very secret if anyone deaf is watching.

I never really used secret codes.
The closest thing to "secret codes" was when I was using those old numeric pagers (the kind where you pick up the phone, dial the number, listen for the beep, dial the number you want to show up on the pager, then hang up). This was years ago from 1994 to 1999. I had a hearing friend who got tired of having to rely on phone calls to update each other on things we normally do all the time. So, we set up a code where we would follow. What he would do was call my pager, then leave a number that identifies where we can meet, then press '*' to add a '-', then leave a number that identifies the time (in military time). All I had to do was page him back by leaving one of two numbers that represent "Yes" or "No". If it was neither, but a different time proposal... then I would reply with a different time and have him reply with the same "Yes" or "No". It worked out great. (We had numbers representing a bowling alley, a mall, a restaurant, a bar, etc... places we always went to.) I have another friend who would page me with a phone number and then end it with his number (to identify who it was). For instance, if his number was 20 and my phone number was 555-1234... calling my pager and leaving this number "555-1234-20" means that he's on his way to my house right now. (He lived down the street from where I live.)

I'm sure it's just my advanced age and nothing to do with basic courtesy and consideration for others . . . except for deaf CIA operatives and kids still in junior high, I would consider secret signing in my presence to be extremely rude. I'd either leave them to themselves or send them packing to play annoying games in front of someone else.
