Poll for hearing people who are already know sign

I'm deaf so I can't vote. So I'm just wondering which sign language did you use?

I listed ASL, because that is primary. But I will use PSE or SEE, depending upon the deaf person's preference. I let them guide me as to which language they are more comfortable with. But I do not mix them.

Ditto on that Jillio

I am more comfortable with ASL.
Me and Hubby (ran256) primarily use ASL. He is immersed in ITP though and the coded adaptations are also used/taught/tested there - completely throws off good ASL.

Jeebus. ASL is only language on the list while others are known as Manual Code of English (MCE) which means MCE is not language but rather as "code" for spoken language.

Couldn't agree with you more. The coded adaptations distort the purpose of ASL, which is to provide information in a spatial, visual fashion, by adding the linear features meant for information that is to be processed by the ear. The eye and the ear do not receive information in the same way. To make that which is intended for the eye conform to criteria for that which is intended for the ear confuses the matter.

Even if I was hearing, I wouldn't vote.

When I vote in public polls, I get singled out and people verbally attack me.

Which communication do you prefer? ASL, SEE, PSE, Other.

I pick PSE.

Someone PMs me or IMs me, "Why PSE? That's not a deaf sign language. You're a hearie-wannabe!"
